Are there any celebrities or successful 'entertainers' whose success just mystifies you? In other words, you look at their work and ask yourself, HOW ON EARTH DID THIS PERSON MANAGE TO REACH THESE HEIGHTS OF FAME AND POPULARITY!?! Their talent, intelligence, and/or charisma simply don't seem to justify the success they've achieved.

In no particular order, here are some people I wonder about.....

Adam Sandler
Martin Lawrence
Ray Romano
Mike Bullard
Carson Daily
Celine Dion (sp?)
Chris Tucker
Don Cherry

Julia Roberts. One word: U-G-L-Y.
Wow! What kind of standards do you have, Johnny??? While I don't think she's as hot as many make her out to be, 'ugly' is a strong word!

Well I find Charlize Theron a 10, Nicole Kidman a 9, Estella Warren a 9, Sandra Bullock an 8, Britney Spears a 10.
Thats my taste in women. Maybe ugly is a bit strong but I wouldnt rate her more than a 6.5.

Goes to show how subjective this sort of thing is. I find Marty Short to be a quite talented comedic entertainer and Robin Williams a very good comdeic and dramatic actor (though, granted, he can be over the top and annoying).

I even kind of like Norm McDonald; his unique sense of humour somehow appeals to me. That said, I can see how he wouldn't resonate with everyone.

Another name I might add to my list is George Hamilton - the guy with the tan. I'm not exactly sure how or why I know who this guy is. One of those people who is famous for no apparent reason!

Agree with Rerun, except two:

Celine Dion, not eye candy, but what a voice, wow.
Don Cherry, excels in controversy. He is entertaining, and make sense....sometimes.

Adam Sandler - SNL alumni
Martin Lawrence - Standup comedy
Ray Romano - Standup comedy
Carson Daily - MTV
Celine Dion - pop star in Quebec in her teens
Chris Tucker - comedy
Don Cherry - commentator for CBC HNIC for a long time

Mike Bullard I don't understand his humor either. I don't know who he is, weather or not people outside of Ontario know who he is. All I know is his talkshow is not that interresting.

Mike Bullard's show just got cancelled recently. Hes a boring and insulting, not charismatic and unfunny. Makes me wonder why his show got cancelled.

Nick Nolte - need i say more.

Anna Nicole Smith - under the airhead category.

Fred Durst - poser, but may make it as a talent manager.

Howard Stern - tired.

Sean Penn - for someone who hates celebrityism makes it a point to let everyone know what he thinks about politico's.

Also anyone with the last name Wayans, Arquette, Baldwin, Hilton or Olsen.

I'm sure people are going to disagree, but Renee Zellwegger. She has got to be the most unattractive woman in hollywood, and isn't a particularly good actress. I have no clue how she got to be so huge.

agree with Matthew Broderick...along with
Toby McGuire
Melanie Griffith
Kris Kristofferson
Neil Diamond

All can put me to sleep within 5 minutes. Only Melanie I'd like to sleep with...but damn she's a boring actress.
