When and how exactly did this shift happen?

I remember 6-7 yrs ago, SPs were alot more health concious; if you got a bbbj from an SP you better go play the lottery because that day was indeed your "lucky" day. Now bbbj's are so prevalent they are a mandatroy pre-requisite for what seems like most hobbyists.

Anybody know what spurred this change? Any theories?

more competition and prevalence of internet would be my guess

yeah but competition was probably just as stiff back then....we didnt have as many Apt incalls but thats only because they were all working in the MPs offering the same stuff... remember the EBC Mecca of pussy.

Internet was big then too but I guess not as big as today

This is primarly a Toronto thing. You go to the states, it's virtually safe everywhere. Montreal has traditionally been BBBJ for as long as I can remember, don't know why.

The pressure is mainly from the guys who want it, the ladies have the pressure to make money so they give in and take the risk, if they don't another lady will and take business away. I don't know every lady in this business, but the many ladies I do know all want to play safe if they were given the choice. So yes, I do believe the competitive nature has made this happen, way more ladies in this business today IMO. Heck, there was a thread recently that BBFS is being offered, now that really scares the hell out of me.

I am always astounded when I read posts on this board that BBBJ is not that risky, etc. I used to believe that but not after I researched it. The way some guys rationalize this is unbelievable. Hobbiests should be more educated in this area.

I suggest you get the facts, read up on STDs, talk to somebody at the Hassle Free Clinic, then make up your mind. Don't judge people that do or do not. Almost every SP that does BBBJ is willing to do CBJ so all you need to do is ask. Some hobbyist like to have BBBJ every now and then and other guys only seek this. To each their own. Is BBBJ riskier? Hell yeah but you gotta pay if you want to play. I'm sure Hef had to get his share of penicilin shots. Know the facts and make up your own mind.

Yea, so does jumping off a building naked instead of parachuting out of a plane. The rush you get when you jump off that building is so exhilerating, it beats jumping from a plane with that damn parachute on your back anyday. I never tried it live, but many times in my dreams. lol If you don't like that analogy, how about saying BBFS feels so much better than CFS, and BB greek is so much better than covered greek, should we take that risk also? I hope this industry doesn't go that far.

Obviously it feels better, no arguement. The fact is guys are willing to risk not only their health, but the ladies' health as well just to get it. We're not talking about getting BB from a girlfriend who is exclusive to you, we're talking about getting BB from ladies in this industry who see several men each day, dozens each week, hundreds each year, and God knows where all of these men have been and what they have. When you look at the numbers this way, why not reduce the risk further by being safe? I have and sleep much better with less stress.

If that's true, I'm going to give some serious shit to the dozens and dozens of doctors that told me otherwise, I'm going to call up the Hassle Free Clinic, Ontario Medical Association, the Ministry of Health, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons and really give them a piece of my mind for lieing to me all this time.

I think the basis of his assertion is that from a guy's perspective of receiving, anything you can catch is either curable (thus pointless to worry about for some) or can be transmitted even with a condom (like herpes) or is not transmissible without highly irregular circumstance (like a cut on the penis).

which is very true.
i think the only thing a CBJ prevents is a newbie blowing his load into your mouth w/o warning.
and i guess it tastes better for the SP
