It would have been more newsworthy if he had been found telling the truth.
Though getting caught lying in court is worth mentioning.
The Trump's are pretty good at that 'I don't remember' stuff in court.
But Trump's multiple campaign / staff associates did the same thing in court, they got convicted and then pardoned by the Liar in Chief at the end.

It did lead to his impeachment though.
Well, impeachment that was not supported by the congress is like a criminal charge that did not lead to a conviction. It had no legal consequences.
Might happen if the friendly divorce hits some bumps. I agree, though, that video of Jr. with his lips moving (that's the "tell" that he's lying) isn't very exciting...
