They are side effects if foreseen as a result of the vaccination. They are adverse effects if they are not in the list below.
Common side effects to COVID-19 vaccines have mostly been mild to moderate and short-lasting. They include:

It's nice that that guy thinks so, but the CDC doesn't agree.

It's not what the Good Clinical Practice people think, either.

Or the FDA.

Prescribing information in the US calls them all Adverse reactions, as do product monographs in Canada.

There is a wide range of definitions of these things.
I actually like the above distinction between Adverse Reactions and Side Effects, it has useful features.

I was walking up the street and this woman was walking down the street. Both of us not wearing masks. I gave her a wide berth. As we were about to pass each other she stopped and said she has been vaccinated (one dose of Astra at Shoppers) a while back. No after effects..
