I hate to say but what the police consider as sex trafficking and what people on this board consider as sex trafficking is two different things. To them ANY women working as a sex worker is being trafficked. When there is a bust it will be up to you to prove your innocence to the judge against the police evidence.

Which are??
Ha, that was my thought as well. Anyone who knowingly partakes of establishments involved in trafficking and underage girls deserve what they get, but not everyone would be aware. As far as I'm concerned, our archaic laws make it more difficult than it has to be to sniff out the bad apples. 99% of hobbyists want to see legit women. I'm not saying it would be all clear sailing, but we could certainly make better laws to ensure reputable agencies exist to fulfill that need.

As with other forms of employment, and enjoyment, from once-illegal alcohol and gambling through the still illegal drug and sex trades, evidence shows that driving such businesses underground accomplishes little or nothing by way of harm-reduction. In fact such measures severely increase the danger of harm to any and all involved in such uncontrolled criminal markets.

How much trafficking would there be if legal workers could phone The Department of Labour to have the Employment Standards Act enforced?

Luckily for me, the only Asian females I interact with are the ones at the cash registers of the Asian Stores.

Illegal, No English, no phone, straight exchange of money for goods.:)

BTW: The reference to 'yellow fever' is misguided. These operations also exist with imported European girls and even home grown. Blame that arogant asshole Harper and his supporters of the new prostitution bill that promote this activity rather than legalizing and licensing prostitution.
Only reason I used the term "yellow fever" was because from what I read the agencies in question for the terms of this news story, were known for their Asian associate work force...

The RCMP hasn't been able to pinpoint an exact number of victims, but said there could be as many as 500.

The contents of computers and cellphones confiscated during 16 police seizures may shed light on a list of clients.
(Thank gawd I don't have yellow fever and only ever saw one agency girl, and even that was "off premises"...)
I don't have Asian Fever as well so thank gaud is right. I don't even see agencies for that matter.
But I'll bet you some guys whether on here or not are shitting in their pants right now.

Bet you'll see a lot less peppering of Asian girls on Bp.

It's no coincidence that this took place the day after the Ontario AG said the new law was constitutional. This was planned and timed.
I wonder how many of these girls were "trafficked victims" and how many knew why they were coming here and what they'd be doing once they got here.
This whole "human trafficking" thing is mostly myth, used by LE and those against the sex trade.

The news reports also said there were up to 500 women involved. This sounds an awful lot like one of those "picked this number out of my ass" numbers that people in authority make up from time to time and the media then dutifully reports.

Where you going with this, Families sending their young Daughters out to prostitute, for them to send money back home, is common practice in China. So the number of girls their talking about in this sting does not surprise me at all.

I think it is foolish to think that you can tell if an agency has sex trafficking.

If you were running a business in which you would lose customers for trafficking you would hide it.

I noticed that, in one of the first media articles published about this topic. I believe they said 'they suspected that as many as 500 women could be involved', so it's only a 'suspicion' at this point, with no factual proof to back it up. The media is now reporting it as fact, when it is not.

That could also be over x number of years. It just sounds sexier in a news story than 25

If this is true (and it might not be true), then these daughters are safer in Canada than in Indonesia or Thailand.

BTW: I found a used computer on the curb a while back but everything was in Korean. I went back to the store and all 3 Korean women said "no speak Anglais".

I'm not worried. I don't see agency girls often and haven't done so this year at all.

I wrote, November 2014, in a bill c36 thread,

"Asian in calls are high priority for the Asian crime unit..as there's an abundance of questionable activities there in the trafficking and confinement realms. that's about all I'm going to disclose buddy. Hobby til ya drop..or they drop ya.....that's my best brotherly terbite advice for you. Your on your own now"

And, also forecast,

"Hi traffic Asian massage and Asian in calls will be high on the target list. Opp Asian Crime Unit is just 'a waitin."

Toronto According to Chief Bill Blair's spokesperson, Mark Pugash, the new law hasn't changed the way the force is dealing with prostitution. They continue to rely on complaints. Pugash says public safety is the force's "highest concern," but he seems to be talking more about residents' concerns than the safety of sex workers. "If the complaints we get require us to use tools we didn't have before, then we will do that."
