So glad i am not the only on who feels this way about Toronto finest. I was worried that it got to about three pages before anyone called him on his bullshit.

Wasn't this also the same guy who got upset that a former girl went elsewhere using a pic that had his room as the background? It was a basic bed and blinds he could have let it go.......
Like DB said, don't worry, we already know.

The news really is the federal government using the RCMP to enforce the law, where the local police have tended to deprioritize it. Toronto police seem to think they have better things to do, but the RCMP are under Harper Government ministerial control.
Right, and going after low-hanging fruit deservedly ripe for the picking. But I wonder what's next.

"NGOs estimated that 2,000 persons were trafficked into the country annually, while the RCMP estimated 600 to 800 persons, with an additional 1,500 to 2,200 persons trafficked through the country into the United States. Many victims were Asians and Eastern Europeans, but a significant number also came from Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. Women and children were trafficked for sexual exploitation; on a lesser scale, men, women, and children were trafficked for forced labor. Some girls and women, most of whom were Aboriginal, were trafficked internally for commercial sexual exploitation."

From Wikipedia
This is a very serious matter, but on the lighter side this is proof that men have no sexual value in the world. That is why men are so desperate for sex, compared to any woman..even the ugly ones can get laid anytime. :)

Gentlemen here is the bigger picture. Documented by the Discovery channel! Do I enjoy being with escorts? Of course I do,
as long as I know they are independent and on their own free will, and for myself there is an age factor to all of this.

The feds may have shot themselves in the foot. With the RCMP bust, this give a rich defendant the opportunity to successfully defense against the advertising charge being unconstitutional.

A challenge for an unconstitutional advertising charge might get muted by a human trafficking charge against the same defendant.

If one of the charges is for the advertising offense, case law precedent, one way or the other regarding the right to advertise something legal to sell will be made. NOW magazine wouldn't want the defendant to lose in this case, right?

Feds may have to drop the advertising charge if they think they might lose in court.

Is that all you could come up with ? TRAFFICKING don't you get it ? Don't forget that the RCMP have lawyers on staff as well as contracted ones. They don't make a move until their sure of the outcome.

Yes. If they think they can bury that defendant with the trafficking charge, they won't bother with the advertising charge.

As for the advertising charge, can NOW magazine intervene in the defense?

Good question, but I'm sure Now or Backpage were the least of the RCMP's concern. The criminal element is what they were looking for.

This bust would have happened with or without C-36. RCMP had been investigating this ring since January 2014 long before C-36 had even been introduced.

Thank you. The RCMP were weeding out Criminals. Pure and simple. As is their job to do, whether you Agree or Disagree.

Where you going with this, Families sending their young Daughters out to prostitute, for them to send money back home, is common practice in China. So the number of girls their talking about in this sting does not surprise me at all.
Coincidentally this article is now on CNN with regards to this happening in Cambodia. Really sad and shocking when hearing and seeing the young person speak about it.

Admittedly not all does these things so we shouldn't generalize and accuse them all but it is something that needs to be addressed with force.

Maybe, but if the possibility is there, I for one will not indulge.

Agree. These guys would have been busted even if all they were doing were introducing these girls to legitimate waitressing jobs at East Side Marios. It's the fact that they employed so many people without proper work visas who were essentially making money here illegally.

If these girls had been doing any kind of job other than incalls, they would have been charged too.
