I miss visiting the Asian agencies, but it was only prudent to stop with the onset of the new bill. All agencies are vulnerable, but especially the ones employing foreign providers are too inviting a target for the le to pass up. Independent providers are the safest, but even they carry a lot of risk. There's a bad wind blowing...must be careful. And perhaps scale back a bit.
The news really is the federal government using the RCMP to enforce the law, where the local police have tended to deprioritize it. Toronto police seem to think they have better things to do, but the RCMP are under Harper Government ministerial control.

My take on the recent bust is that this was a warning to agency's and clients, "a shot across the bow".
If they were looking to get maximum results, they could have raided multiple shops at the same time during busy hours and arrested hundreds of johns and many owners. With 1 high profile raid with lots of media exposure they have scared the crap out of us, enough to stay away or even quit, and get many of the local high profile asian agency's to close their doors either temporarily or maybe even permanently in some cases.

They have more important things to do like setting up speed traps, but most importantly working at construction sites etc., to keep that sunshine list going strong ...i would rather them go after our well protected crooked politicians....

These busts show part of what is going on, and this is primarily an Asian thing. Simply look at the ads. Simply look at the forums that are not as responsible as Terb (and bring a translator). I had been to the Asian places years ago, and even then knew to get the fuck out. I still remember the dead eyes of one of the "employees" there.
Some guys love a bargain. Some guys think it is special to get their ass soaped and rimmed, by some chick who sees ten clients a day and does not speak a word of English. Clearly there is a market for it, but it is a cancer on this industry.

I can't help but notice the article says that police are using records to "identify clients", not necessarily to "arrest" clients. In order for charges to stick, I would assume that police would need some patsy to say "uuuuh, yeah.... I paid my money and had sex with her", so I am not sure whether "identification" means "charged".
If the police contact you in any way confirm whether you are being arrested or charged, and whether you are or not, just say "I am going to call a criminal lawyer who will be in touch with you regarding this matter on my behalf. Otherwise I will not be saying anything."
Exactly. The stereotype is asian but there are plenty of others. There's probably some eastern European traffickers too and plenty of domestic pimps.
