What a great win by the boys. It got a little scary near the end but we prevailed.

Fuck the end of the game was crazy. You never count mexico out!

But this is a new Canada team. The team had 4 MLS player on the starting line up all others play first division league in Europe. And these 4 one is already bought by belgium team and pretty sure young defender Jonhston is next. The talent is there!

Canada still has six games left to play before they can officially qualify.

England slays Goliath, nothing can stop them from winning the World Cup!

Canada could have taken the full six points from Mexico, they were not intimidated in the Azteca. I was wrong about the lack of a registra, Stephen Eustaquio is stepping up. Never heard of him before, born in Leamington, developed in Spain.

He's two years younger than Canada's best registra Ashley Lawrence, both our Selects have bright futures. Registras (quarterbacks) take longer to mature, usually by 23 they start to hit their stride, Eustaquio is 24.

To be honest I had never heard of Eustaquio as well. But nether of Adekudbe and very little of Larin. When you bench David (top scorer for France Ligue A) it really means you have a bit of depth. And Iké Ugbo was still on the bench.

For me the aura of Davies and Buchanan is bringing everyone up a level or 2.

Young Nashville defender Jonhston had a stellar game yesterday. On the first goal he sees a opportunity mid field. Steals the ball and power a long range volley well enough so goal keeper had to give a rebound.

On the other side Miller was also amazing (except the last 10 minutes). But him I see all the time in Montreal and it's obvious he is very strong.

I've noticed Eustaquio at the gold cup, he scored a beauty off a free kick and yes he can deliver beauties on set plays.

Canada commando del classifico Concacaf.

Is John Herdman Canada's Jose Mourinho? What role have the regional feeder cells played in the turnaround. The last time Canada beat Mexico was at the 2000 Gold Cup, back then the CSA was a joke. Herdman talked Eustaquio to play for Canada, he was less successful with Bryan Cristante (duel citizenship) who took his chances with the Azzurri. I got to see the match in it's entirety, Eustaquio gave up no turnovers.

Forwards score goals, registras gather silverware: Pirlo, Xavi, Kroos all won the World Cup and several CLs. When Herdman announced it, it was a bloody big deal.

CONCACAF 4th place finisher draws OFC winner (most likely New Zealand) in the playoff. Which means if Canada were to finish 4th they will have to beat NZ (in a home and away aggregate) to advance to the WC. The top 3 in CONCACAF advance to the WC.

It was a big risk for Herdman to leave his point man (David) on the bench, he wanted a more fluid set-up against Mexico. Better to have them chase than mass the box.

Tajon Buchanan (not related to Kadeshia Buchanan) has unlimited talent and very cool in possession. I've been lobbying Roma to take a look at him, he currently plays for the New England Revolution.
