Canada is now vaccinating a higher proportion of its population daily than the U.S.

Probably because all those Americans who wanted a shot got it months ago
IOW Americans are much more likely to be selfish irresponsible covidiots!

IOW vaccine hesitant.

Which is why Canada is defeating them in this pandemic.

And will soon probably be defeating them on the vaccination front of the war as well.

Well done, Canada!

don't think so we are months behind and most Canadians don't have first shot let alone second we are so far behind its not even funny

Njoo said 40 per cent of eligible Canadians over the age of 18 have now received one vaccine dose — good, but not maximum, protection.

More than 46 per cent of the U.S. population has been given at least one dose and more than a third given both.

us population approx 330,million
Canada population approx 38 million

so canada has done approx 15 mill single dose the us approx 150 MILLION with 1/3 having two shots already

That's not really surprising though. They're still ahead of us in totals and there is a point where you expect the rate of pick up to drop off. We are on the upswing of the curve.

It is a good thing, absolutely, because we want our rate high during the upswing, but it isn't really all that relevant until we are at about the same percentage of population vaccinated.

And where would we be if Mr. Dress-up had taken steps to ensure a domestic supply of vaccine instead of relying on unreliable sources?

How many thousands might not have died if Mr "look at my socks" had been on top of the issue?

And before we get too smug, I remind you that as of last Friday, only 2.8 percent of Canadians are fully vaccinated. Until one is FULLY VACCINATED you're still subject to lockdown. Sorry to pee in your cheerios.

Justin has been in power 5 years.

Haven't any complaints about the 10 years that Harper was in power.

Glad to see a nicely balanced critique of the powers that be.

Yes, Justin has been in power for 5 years.

That's exactly my point.

And Harper was in power only 5-6 years ago and was PM for 10 and did nothing to ready Canada for the eventuality of a pandemic, yet I hear zero criticism.

That is exactly my point.

Harper is NOT Prime Minister now is he? He has not been the Prime Minister of Canada for 5 years.

I'm not blaming Mr. Dressup for what he did not do prior to COVID. I AM blaming him for doing NOTHING since COVID (other than standing up at the podium every other day in front of Rideau Cottage and scolding the populace to wear a mask.)

The man is incompetent beyond belief.

I'm curious to know, in your way of thinking, (excuse making) at what point does the statute of limitations kick in with respect to blaming the last guy? You must work for the government in some respect. A teacher perhaps. Government workers never cease making excuses and blaming the last guy, or the guy before that etc. etc. Anything except to accept responsibility. No-one in the private sector could EVER get away with blaming Mr. 5 years ago.

It's just excuse making.

Might as well blame this guy:

And as of today, Canada has vaccinated 38.87 percent of the population with at least 1 jab.

But sadly, only 3.3 percent of the population is FULLY vaccinated.

At this rate, it will be 2 years before we are all fully vaccinated.

Oh yeah, here's the link to the Government of Canada's website. It updated today at noon.

We have no vaccine production facility, pfizer and moderna have contracts to fill up to the year 2022. Regardless of the socks he wears, we only will get whatever Biden is willing to give.

If 1 shot is all Canada is going to get then that is what we will get until we have domestic production. You are acting like JT has some secret button he can push to get more vaccine but refuses to push it.

1)And he did absolutely nothing for the 10 years when he could have provided us some protection. But that's OK with you.

2)So once Trudeau's tenure is over, you will no longer blame him for doing nothing.
