The only thing worse than a banana republic is a banana monarchy.

To send parliament home to avoid a non-confidence vote
is something I did not expect to see in a first world country.

I think I will depart early this year for my winter hiatus in
a real banana republic.

Imagine the uproar from the USA if Hugo Chavez pulled a stunt like this.

while you often have sensible and cogent points, I think you are off base on this one. All is being done according to the rule of law. While many do not agree with the way the system works, it does work and the result has been one of the most peaceful and prosperous countries in the world.

Canada.

Why let one Province dictate terms when all the Premiers can get together and say "fuck the feds, we're better off without them." Form 5-7 countries based on who gets along best and Harper comes back from vacation unemployed.

Heaven, definately Heaven
How many times did Harpo use the word "separatists" in his address to the nation? Boy he's out. Wasn't the BQ issue already addressed a couple of years back, in fact agreed upon by his minority government?

PM Steve Harper: Ass Out Forward!! NO CONFIDENCE!!

Gyaos Baltar.

Its starting to boil again. lots of ordinary people are finally starting to realize that being nice to those fuktards just makes them ask for more. Hit'em and froggy will run and hide in the trees of northern kwebeck. either that or tell them theres a war on, then they'll run faster.

Clearly, the conservatives have a hidden agenda to break up Canada.
personally, I have no problems with that. I just find your protestations
of nationalism hypocritical.

Would you not prefer Quebec to seccede from Canada?

Furthermore, I believe the conservative PM considers elected parliamentarians
from Quebec less than full members of parliament.

That is all I predicted you would say. So what was so wild about it?

And why are you here instead of at the party?

There is a very strong legal argument to be made on that point!

They just get the old "Lower Canada" area they came in with. We keep James Bay generating plants as an example.

let them freeze in the dark.
