since 2021 is not important. Battery tech is moving really fast. Whats the trend in the last 5 years?
You are right. There were 9 fires from 2021-2024. And since then only a mere two fires in the last 2 years. Before Shenzhen fire the last was in Fuzhou in 2024. Huge improvement. Not even one a year...Tesla factories burn down at a much higher rate when you include arsonists 🙄

Carney has the yellow fever. Maybe he should go to GG to satisfy this instead of selling out our country and putting us under a communist regime.
There's a reason he's selling Canada out, this twitter account shows it all. @DesRicardo you'll like this as well.

Oblivion
I’m all over Liberals like a dirty shirt, maybe I should take those shirts to a Chinese laundry…🤔
For Canada, “ Chinese laundries” went out in the wash a long time ago. Fast forward to 2026, resource rich Canada has no significant Canadian owned high tech manufacturing base nor infrastructure and is reeling from the shuttering of Canadian tax payer subsidized American owned auto branch plants and other factories as Trump strips Canada for parts. Canada today, cannot even make a toaster oven and is already dependent on China. It would seem that Canada necessarily needs some sort of foreign rescue to fill the void left by the American MAGA fueled factories exit , since Canadian industry cannot do it.

In any case Canada should mandate that all fire departments have advanced sufficient capacity to handle EV fires which is not the case presently .

Car batteries are terrifying enough, but e-scooter batteries, I wouldn't let those things charge unattended.
The e-bikes are another disaster in china. Similar to their EVs, they all end up in massive graveyards to rot due to overproduction from all the subsidies these companies get

This happens due to tampering with the battery. Stupid owners will continue to use damaged batteries, will not use charge inhibitors(the box on the charge wire) causing overcharging and damage. And quite simply road salted slush and battery contacts are not a good combo. Add in outside storage(mine is in a dry garage).

I own an e bike. I monitor it regularly for any heat or damage. And don't ride it once snow hits. And with cost saving amortization, after changing out tires, repairs and adding accessories, it will pay for itself about August this year. I'm not kidding. That's a 3 season run time. It costs me 2 bucks A MONTH to do a 34 km return trip to work per day (and I have permission to charge at work so actually 1 buck). Normally I take transit.

Mine is from a European company. They have the most stringent standards. Built in China but they have to meet the standards.

Quite simply the Chinese don't regulate themselves. But here in NA if you look at number sold, vs number of fires, minus owner stupidity as above, and its fine.
