Ex-UFC champ Velasquez sentenced for shooting

Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez was sentenced to prison time Monday for a shooting that took place in 2022.

He shot a man for molesting his son....Cain should be given a medal not time served

Love Cain and grieve for what his son went through...But you can't be chasing a car and firing into it on the road.

Hopefully with time off for good behaviour he'll be out in a year or so.

My thoughts are that the inmates will respect him as well as the guards so that should help.

When this first came out - I felt so bad for him and his son, after 5 years I still feel the same - I can imagine what he goes through. Loved him as a fighter who had so much potential. Still sad .

If Cain would have targeted the scumbag more carefully he may have gotten off the charges, as there have been cases where the parent is acquitted. In a way he’s kinda lucky the scumbag’s father wasn’t killed or more seriously injured, cuz he would be facing a longer sentence.
