Has anybody purchased electronic items and the like from Amazon.com (not Amazon.ca)?

I remember somebody saying that they have a warehouse in Mississauga and that items such as books, cd's and dvd's are cheaper than Amazon.ca.

I'm looking for a camera... found the best price by far on Amazon.com, however... they DON'T ship to Canada??? Whats that about, especially with the dollars at roughly par?

A lot of times, the seller isn't Amazon, just some mom & pop internet place that happens to list their items on Amazon. And they may or may not ship to Canada.

Check borderfree.com for a list of e-merchants who participate.

Also try Access USA at myus.com, where you can get a US address to purchase from US merchants.

The only time I bought a book from Amazon.com, it actually came from the States.

In terms of shipping, it doesn't matter where the warehouse is. They'll still charge you US shipping (i.e., no super saver shipping special at $39).

That being said, I love Amazon.ca and use it all the time. I save around 1/3 of the price that stores charge. And sometimes you can even find a real steal, especially if you pre-order (sometimes the initial pricing changes but they usually still honour the price you pre-paid). Not to mention free shipping on orders over $39. Can't beat that.

I will never buy anything on amazon again. Tried to buy some games and they never had what I wanted in stock. So I tried to buy books and they either didn't have them in stock or didn't deliver to Canada. I thought it was such a waste of time, but it was a gift certificate, so I had to buy something. It took me about 6 months to finally get the games.

Amazon.com has never shipped electronics or anything other then DVD's and books to Canada.

Amazon.ca's pricing has changed to reflect the currency exchange, so it's now cheaper to buy from the Canadian site anyways.

I was thinking of selling on Amazon since eBay /Pay pal screwed me over. It didn’t seem as simple as eBay and I am curious what all the costs are involved...

I only discovered Amazon a way back because I thought it would have hot tall athletic women like Wonder Women
