We are at the end of the 5th and hopefully last wave and everything is opening up regardless of how much shitting in the streets happens.
Soon it won't matter so much.

The government has the support of the country, they just got voted back in for their handling of the pandemic.
The anti vaxxers just slowed things down, clogging the the hospitals and ICU's and costing us more money in health care and now in policing.
All because they are afraid of a jab that a billion people took, that 96% of doctors think is safe enough that they took.

It is the responsibility of the government to listen to health professionals, same way that we have laws against smoking and not wearing seatbelts, not to mention stop signs or other crap.
You want to take the risk and not get vaxxed, fine, just deal with the repercussions the same way if you thought drilling a hole in your head was wise.
So you know the long term effects of the vaxx then?

I'm triple shot and do not give a fuck of the vaxx status of anyone else in any capacity.

Smoking and seabelts are fineable offenses. You're not blocked from seeing family members.

Anti vaxxers are responsible for the measles coming back when it was almost eliminated.
I care about that.

And yeah, nobody knows the long term effects of the vax though we do know that covid itself appears to have some long term effects on quite a few people.
Its a risk we all take for the public good, 0.06% complications with the vax vs 1-2% fatality and slightly larger hospitalizations from the virus. Small loss of freedom vs bigger costs for society and either you believe in the idea of public good or you don't.

This vaccine thing is divisive even within families and among friends.

One of my closest friends refuses to get vaccinated (as is his right). Anyway, he suffered a heart attack in his early 50's. At least he can't blame the vaccine he didn't take.

So, what is the long term effect of the vaccine? Some people will never know if they contract COVID and die in the short term.

The two major concerns in my mind are:
1) Infected people can transmit the disease to other people
2) Infected people tie up scarce hospital capacity

And unvaccinated people who get sick more often end up in ICU's and hospitals in general, costing all of us.

If people that are vaxxed are there protesting mandatory vaccines how can you say they are anti vaxx?

Would be singing the same tune if your family had been affected by the vaxx the way mine has?

I'm sorry about your niece, that's horrble.
But yes, I'd still be singing the same tune.

0.06% for any kind of reaction from the vaccine, and almost none lethal
1-3% fatality from the virus plus those who just get really sick.

Its still the best choice for society.

...
Because it is a short form to group the anti-vaxxers, the anti-mask crew, the anti-science conspiracy theorists, The Trudeau obsessed, and all the people selfishly whining because they think they deserve special treatment.

My daughter not niece. Without knowing long term effects we can't compare that hazards between the vaxx and covid.

Covid has destroyed the mental health and stability of people more than anything.

There are people laughing at people that died on this forum alone. Wtf.

There's no certainty in this life. One could break one's neck falling down stairs. Anyway, I waited months after the vaccine came out and noticed that people were still talking and walking. I did avoid Astra and J&J.

My apologies and I do hope your daughter recovers.

I have friends who have caught it and done fine and a few that have caught it and died. Its all crappy and I hope we can do whatever we can to get through it as fast as possible with the fewest deaths and sick people possible. Again, sorry for your daughter.

The issue is the government taking things away from people until they comply. Getting vaxxed or anything really should be a personal choice not determined by anyone else but the individual person.

Begging the government to tell you what you do and how to live is cowardly.
Prove the 9 million was raised from the u.s alone. Because I saw something completely different. I saw people pulling money from their pockets and donating food.
When I went to look I saw everyone working together to achieve a goal. No one person was in charge/leader.
Okay. You're wrong, but you're entitled to your opinion.

What happened in the last election? Your party lost. In a democracy, we do what the winner wants to do. If we have a problem with it, we petition our MP or we file a lawsuit. We don't occupy other people's neighbourhoods and literally shit on their front lawns.

You're assuming how I voted. The party I voted for lost the popular vote yet still won.

I've been fighting the government going on 8 years. Petitions are worthless, writing an mp/mpp is even more worthless than petitions.

She has extreme vertigo now. The doctors say this is permanent with no recovery expected and thank you.

To not get a canned reply 6 months after I email? To much to ask that an employee email me back?
It takes 6 months for a judge to read a divorce petition these days. Several months to get a routine, non-urgent court date. COVID has fucked everything. Everybody is inconvenienced.

If this has been going on for 8 years, maybe you should hire an attorney. If there's a genuine case there, an attorney can probably help you.
