Trump is a qualified candidate!! Relying on some 1860 civil war law, seems quite fishy to me---LOL Hopefully, the SCOTUS, will intervene in this Colorado case??
Mitch, when was the US Constitution written?

Before or after 1860?

Given that the 14th A was passed in the 1860's. American democracy must have been dead for 160 years then.
The 14th was passed after the great insurrection, more usually referred to as the American Civil War. It was put in place to prevent followers of "the lost cause", who still honored the loser's flag. Fast forward to 2021 and you see an insurrectionist mob storming the US Capital (while Congress was in session, no less) and some of them carry the loser's flag and other display it on their clothing. Anyone except a genuine mental midget can connect those dots...

I think the trial must be first. Then if convicted off the ballot.
He had an election, lost, tried to steal it. That does not mean he gets to try to steal again without a trial about the previous steal.

It's understandable why TRUMP triggers the weak. He's tall. He has full head of hair. He doesn't smoke drugs all day. He has a good looking wife. He has children and grandchildren who love him. He has more money than everyone on this website combined.
He will be the next POTUS-again.
Get used to it.

In a democracy, don't the people have the right to elect who they want to?
I'll ask again, why are you afraid of him running for office?

But certain people are not legally eligible to run. 5-year-olds can't run. Australians cannot legally run. Rottweilers can't legally run for president of the USA. And neither can Trump.

My 88 year old senior lady neighbour told me that her tame squirrel, Romeo should run for president. But he cannot legally run. Like Trump cannot run. One is a squirrel and the other an insurrectionist. They cannot legally run.

Are you that afraid that you wouldn't want him to run because he would get elected?
Otherwise, if you are confident the people would not elect him, then why not let him run?

Should he still be able to run if found guilty in either one of his coming-up cases?

He chose to break the rules resulting in him becoming ineligible.
Ask him why he did it instead of letting people choose him.
