Seems stupid that his lawyer is allowed to make up any convoluted story for Millard which of course is not subject to cross-examination. I thought the judge would limit Millard's attorney's examination to facts presented and Smich nor any witness presented any evidence placing Smich in the same truck as Bosma. If Millard had a story/evidence to give - he should be doing it on the stand so that his version can be questioned in court.

Traditional rules of engagement in a criminal trial. The accused cannot be made to testify - indeed, WAS NOT PERMITTED TO TESTIFY UNTIL THE LATE 1800's!! Therefore, he "suggests" his story through his lawyer's examination of the other witnesses and the jury assesses whether it raises a reasonable doubt or not.

There's a much better way of getting rid of a body. You just feed to a herd of pigs, they'll have that corpse devoured in 30 minutes flat. They even eat the bones. The only thing they dont eat is teeth. You'll have to collect those afterwards.

To me the purchase of the incinerator was evidence for premeditation. There was no other reason to own it other then to dispose of human remains. They could not explain why they bought it. It was clear Millard expected he was going to kill someone sometime. To me it also should provide evidence he saw killing as a sport and therefore should be a dangerous offender.
