So many great songs....this morning of May 2013....lol...I'm listening to....(loud too):
1) Tombstone Blues:
Now I wish I could write you a melody so plain
That could hold you dear lady from going insane
That could ease you and cool you and cease the pain
Of your useless and pointless knowledge

2) Subterranean Homesick Blues

3)It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) when he sang this one at the Montreal Forum in Dec.75, the crowd stood up and cheered during the song, right after these lyrics, because Nixon had resigned a year before....

While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have to stand naked

Anyways, almost any song makes sense on LSD or peyote buttons.
That explains a lot :D

He wrote so many great songs. I was surprised when I saw the Band's Last Waltz some years ago and first discovered he wrote I Shall Be Released and Forever Young
