Justin Turner is a better fit for the Blue Jays than Cody Bellinger who could turn into another Matt Chapman. Last season was frustrating for Vladdy, he had to chase junk pitches. Pitchers didn't care if they walked him, the next batter was an almost automatic out.

Turner 1 year at $13 million.
He declined his $13.4 million player option with the Red Sox and instead settled for the $.6.75 million buyout. So technically he's making close to $20 million this season. Smart move on his part.

That's a positive for me. Post April 2023, Chapman was useless at the dish. I'm not sure any player frustrated me more at the plate last year.
And his glove, while very good, was diminishing.

I'm sure Turner goes into the mix at 3rd for some games, but I think most of his playing time will be at DH.
I think the plan for the Jays is IKF, Biggio, Schneider, a few other AAA prospects (Martinez, Barger) to get the job done at third.
Turner is not an everyday third baseman. They still need someone to play the corner most games this season.

Your 3rd basemen this year is Biggio.

What an amazing off season we had. We're going right back with the same team hoping everyone has a bounce back year. All we did was replace Belt with Turner, who's a right handed bat. Wasn't one of the big reasons we got belt is we wanted a left bat??

We needed more lefty bats last season. Varsho and Belt. Then we realized we needed a 4th right handed outfield bat after we traded Lourdes Gurriel.:ROFLMAO:

Nice guy but he was floundering at the plate at that time. He got a big spark landing with the Brewers. But last year he batted .215, 13 HR, 47 RBI, -0.6 WAR
So it was a bad time to trade him when he didn't have much value. It's not like we got a good return for him.

Too bad they can’t negotiate a six year deal for Cody Bellinger. I know I’ve heard it all before he’s a risky signing etc. etc. But I think he would be perfect for this team. Would definitely give me the confidence of us having an offensive powerhouse.

….right now all I see is Vlady having no friends to hit home runs and goof around with lol.

If they did sign him to a six year deal then they would have two very high priced DHs with him and Springer. They have the offense. The issue last season was none of them could hit a beach ball.

Springer is absolutely not a DH. He may not be the elite centre fielder he used to be, but he still a very solid right fielder. Your making it sound like he can't catch a ball out there when it couldn't be further then the truth. The only reason they moved out of centre was to keep healthy and the fact they signed the best defensive centre fielder in baseball because they wanted to reduce runs against.
