I was going to ask you about Cashman, but you were a step ahead of me. I have admiration for him because their past success wasn't only money driven, as most people assumed. They developed some talent in house.
Let's look at their starters. Only Sanchez and Judge came up through their system. On the bench there is Gardner. That's it.

Starting pitching there is Montgomery, Nestor Cortez Jr ( spent time with the Orioles and Mariners before coming back) and Domingo German. Not exactly household names but I do like the first two.

Doesn't jump out at you as a great drafting club if you ask me....

Great just read that starter Jameson Taillon is in a walking boot with a torn tendon in his ankle....

What happened to the days of the vaunted Yankees bullpen of Chapman, Britton, Betances....etc. The current batch look and throw like a bunch of farmers.

Really digging the Jays rotation. All five give you a chance to win every outing for the most part. And only one of them is being paid like a star.

Two moments from the game seemed to epitomize what’s wrong with the Yankees. First, do they not scout the opponent and share the information with the players? Why else would Stanton nonchalantly lumber towards second base thinking he had a sure double, when Gurriel has one of the best outfield arms in baseball? Second was their giddy celebrating after hitting each of the solo homers in the bottom of the ninth. Sanchez and Voit looked like they didn’t know they were on the embarrassing end of a four game sweep and their sixth loss in a row. It didn’t look right to me.

bad news is pearson does not look ready for the show

cannot paint corners and does not have good pitches other than fast ball

maybe walker can work a miriacle on him but i would never put him in a close bqll game unless we need a strikeout against a lower tier batter

I forgot to address that. As a Yankee fan I was disgusted by that. I was watching that thinking what in darnation are you whooping it up about? Your TEAM just got their asses handed to them in your home ball park. Get your butt around the bases as fast as you can and pray that your team can score a few more. Voit's Steve Austin's schtick was particularly repulsive.

Double header today, first game at 4:30pm , 2nd game at 7:30pm. Stripling starts game 2, hope he's not as rusty as Merrweather was last night.

They're already panicking in New York 😂

They looked absolutely shit hopeless on the weekend, espec the first 2 games where they were punched around starting in the first and right the way through. I don't think they have the bullpen and the hitting to compete through September. OTOH, they had a 13 game win streak in August. So go figure....

OMG! What a comeback win in game #1!!!
You left out game 2.

They were getting no-hit through 6 and have now put up 8 so far in the 7th.

Crazy shit.

edit: Oops. Another 3 run shot. 11 runs on 11 hits.

Unless the Jays recall Chatwood and Dolis to pitch the 7th, I think we're safe.

Oakland lost, Yankees are losing, Mariners are losing and Bosox are tied with the Pale Hose top 9, in Chicago.
