As a Yankee fan I'm loving this but as a Jay sympathizer I feel bad for the shellacking they are taking.

My feeling is that the Yankees are just hitting the Jays at the right time and the Jays are facing a Yankee time that was due to bust out.

I'm also glad that the Jays pitchers haven't initiated any payback for the home runs. I'm Listening to Paul O'neil on the Yankee broadcast and he's saying that in this situation just put your head down and round those bases as fast as possible. You have to come up again and you don't want them to remember you was his message and I like it. I don't even like the jumping forearm bumping they do on the way back to the dugout. If I was the manager I would put an end to that. Do your celebrating in the dugout.
But in the past, those scores would have been 7-1, 5-2 and perhaps 6-3 - nothing like the scores that are happening this year!!!

Just heard that the 18 HRs in a 3 game series is a new major league record.
Make that 19 dingers and still just in the 7th inning. I don't think the Jays come back from this w just 10 or so games left this season. The loss of confidence must be brutal for the team.

They will sweep the double header in Philly tomorrow.

Where's Costanza with the stats when you need him?

To the naked eye it seems to me that you were correct in your view that there are more runs being scored this year. Especially lately.

Perhaps without a full spring training the pitchers were ahead of the hitters at first but now the momentum has swung back.

Whatever it is this season will be scrutinized thoroughly by the analytics pundits.

Costanza proved that FEWER runs are being scored on average this year. But as you say, it could be the games were low scoring at the start of the season, but now it's nuts. There are 2 or 3 double digit wins every night!

I remember as a kid seeing a game at Jarry park and the expos won 10-8 against the Padres.. Ron Fairly hit 2 hrs.

It was a big deal seeing that amount of runs scored in one game.......Not so much anymore it seems.

Anyways as a Yankee fan I hope the Jays bounce back from this and finish strong. They have some amazing young talent. I look forward to seeing them mature.

Yanks grand total of 43 runs in 3 games. Jays scored 15 runs. The Jays should have won games 1 and 3 based on 6 and 7 runs respectively vs the normal average offensive production of about 4.5 runs per game.

So the Jays' offence is competitive while the pitching has melted.

Jays really lucky to only be playing Yankees 3 times away. Blue Bird Banter has some interesting figures on how much better the Yankees are at home.
No disguising though the weakness of the Jays starting pitching.

This is how good they are when playing a hot team. Pitching is a big problem with the Jays. Only one star starter is two pitchers short. Cannot count on Pearson. If he comes back he will be in pen

If they make the playoffs they are out in one

BTW WTF is up with Vlad? He is our fourth best hitter

1 accomplished today.

Monday - Wednesday, the schedule does the Jays a favour. Astros and M's are the 2 teams right below the Jays and they play a 3-game series. Whoever wins each of those games automatically helps the Jays, as well as themselves.

San Diego (they're good) did Toronto a favour yesterday.

Four!
The magic number is 4, with 7 to play.
