Troy Tulowitzki, since his return to the lineup is hitting .339
(entering tonight's play), killing rallies wherever he goes.

In fairness, Tulo was struggling at the plate prior to being placed on the DL.
The Tulowitzki who has returned to the lineup is 180 to the one who left. He is back to 2015 post season form, and certainly fans are thrilled.
No doubt, Troy Tulowitzki had a terrible start to the season
(batting .169 for April), not many Blue Jays didn't.

In the 11 games immediately before Tulo got hurt, leading to him missing that lengthy stretch,
he was hitting .317, and had raised his average 40 points from the end of April until his injury.

I believe he had turned the corner prior to the injury, and was able to pick up where he'd left off.

So what's your point?
Or is it the usual pointless blather.
When you say dumb things after slagging others, you should be prepared to have it thrown back in your face. Mr. Costanza did a much better job of it.

DUMB? Is that the best ya got?
LOL

In the 15 games prior, Travis had an OPS of 1.000+ while Carrera had .664. Now over the rest of the 78 or so games, who would you want leading off to increase our odds of winning.

Do you think you are really going to win a baseball argument against ME, shack?
Seriously?
R U serious?!

Now that wasn't so hard was it? Better than quoting stuff from 4-6 weeks back out of context.

Agreed Tulo, Martin and pretty much everyone is hitting well. Still want JB back tho.

Anyways, great game tonight, beating KC is extra sweet :)

The what-ifs trade in May...
PLAYER AVG SLG OBP G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS
Jay Bruce .268 .540 .314 78 302 45 81 19 6 17 60 19 68 3 0

Michael Saunders .290 .544 .366 76 283 43 82 23 2 15 38 30 87 0 2

I think they're pretty closed performance wise except the RBI production. Jay Bruce looks pretty good with 60RBI in the Jays lineup.
Might as well chime in here too. :) Saunders' OPS is 50+ points higher than Bruce's. Bruce has more RBI's because he bats 3rd or 4th behind Votto who always gets on base. Saunders has been batting everywhere, mostly behind EE who has been clearing the bases recently.

Both great seasons, but if I had to chose for the rest of the season, I'd chose MS. (plus he's cheaper)

You do know last year's pennant run was largely fueled by Price's signing, dont you??
OK. It wasn't exciting and I shouldn't hope for more of the same this year.

Finally I find someone else who realizes this. Look at the Jays record before Price and after Price.
That's nice. So they can never have a pennant/playoff run without signing Price again? Does this apply to the Jays or the whole league. Price is the catalyst? How many WS rings does he have? One per year I would assume? Will they even bother to have playoffs once David retires? What did they do before David? Hope he plays forever, I like playoffs. They're fun and exciting.

Well, let's go back to July 2015, the jays were 50-51. AA acquired Tulo, Price, BR, DL, and we proceeded to go on a 42 -15 tear to clinch the AL East.
Price started 11 games going 9-1. In the other 46 games, we were 33 -13. pretty amazing.
Tulo hit .211 in Aug and then spent most of Sept on the DL. Way better glove than Reyes.

There's been a lot written since then and the best I can gather is that the rest of the players felt confident that they had all the pieces, so they had no excuses. They just went out and executed and started hitting on all cylinders.

Now that we're hitting, I think we need one more good arm in the bullpen, and we could go on a tear in the 2nd half. It could be one of the guys we have now, stepping up.
