Jays power hitters don't have their timing down yet. Not unusual.Jays struggling a bit down 2-0 early, what is it about TB pitching? We can't seem to get much offence going against these guys. Hopefully they can get something going during the last 7 innings.
I don't know. Tense game now, all tied up at 2.Jays power hitters don't have their timing down yet. Not unusual.
It's very early.Jays power hitters don't have their timing down yet. Not unusual.
I know, it's a tough loss especially with all the hype around this ball club, but that's the only attitude that can be adopted right now. Like I said, if we split the series at 2/2 I'll be good. Two weeks into the season I think is a bit early to be giving up lol Good play by Martin to get that guy out though!Jays lose again to the Rays, I don't understand it. Terrible game for Martin 0-4 at the plate and allows 4 stolen bases of which 2 came around to score. Worst part is this Rays team is a shadow of the quality teams they had a few years ago. Oh well better luck tomorrow.
Yeah could be the turf though, it seems to be slowing the ball down a bit. Far too early in the season to call, though. There were some heads-up plays by Martin and Pillar, but we didn't win, which makes me sad.Jays lose again to the Rays, I don't understand it. This is what pisses me off so much as well. It's early- just don't like losing to what most believe to be the worst AL east team.
Listening to Jeff Blair this morning, he and Jon Merosi (sp?) from Fox sports who regularly comes on to talk baseball both saying that Tampa may have been underestimated. This is what pisses me off so much as well.
I seem to recall the Jays always having trouble with them since they came into the league.
Yes, still early but that goes out the window fast as we found out last season.
Tampa really cannot hit. Even with total ineptitude from Jays' bats, the T-Rays squeaked their wins by the narrowest of margins. But they have good pitching and defence. Fact.Listening to Jeff Blair this morning, he and Jon Merosi (sp?) from Fox sports who regularly comes on to talk baseball both saying that Tampa may have been underestimated.
They can't hit but they can run once on base. Their pitching is only going to improve (they have a few starters on the DL- last night's pitcher was making his MLb start ever..)
I predict they'll finish above the Yankees but below Baltimore and Toronto... Maybe (hopefully), even above Boston.
On the bright note: the Yankees suck and Boston's pitching has been awful.

If this was FB, I would like this! #gojaysToday is starting on a more positive note
Stop being a Debbie downerNow a 10-1 blow out of the T-Rays. Frustrating in the sense that 2 each of those runs last night and Monday would have won them 2 more games and now those extra runs are pretty much wasted in beating up on the weak links in the TB staff and general useless wanking.
And tomorrow, Rays send out Archer who probably shuts the Jays out, so they go 1-3 on the series.
