Ouch that sucks!
Kawasaki understands his role and always gives 110%....I agree with Jennifer. Good move!
Actually, I was taking a gentle dig. Last year she predicted that, and I forget the exact wording, Francisco was going to be a big star.

I read that Edward Rogers is on a special mission to bring Dan Duquette over from Baltimore to serve as club president and that the trade might involve sending Jeff Hoffman over to Baltimore.
I wish daddy's boy would butt out and let the baseball guys run the baseball team. That would be a really horrible trade for the team.
With the Canadian dollar doing a nose dive the last thing the team needs is some Rogers cable guy stepping in and doing baseball trades.

He's going to get taken to the cleaners by the Orioles.
I take this as a sign of impending doom and apocalypse for the team. Edward Rogers stepping in and doing baseball trades.
At least he owns Sportsnet and can use those guys to wildly cheer on his insane moves.
They're like Pravda for the old Russian Kremlin.

Blue Jays have signed Kawasaki to AAA. Everything is right in the world now :)
You come home starving one night and see me lying on your couch naked covered in Lucky Charms and Kawasaki in the bathroom cleaning your toilet wearing what you have on in your signature pic.

Who would you choose first?

My hope is that the Jays are just messing with the O's front office's minds by doing this.

My fear is that the rumours are based in truth and we will wind up giving up a first-round draft pick for a guy in a suit.

If Rogers the Lesser's meddling actually sets the team back in a substantial way, I might have to give up watching baseball for another 20 years. Too bad, as I was just getting over 1994.

Duqette has a history of building winning cultures. A draft pick is a crap shoot. Beestons time is done.

I agree with Shack. Small price to pay for a Top Exec.
The player/pick in question has had 'Tommy John' surgery already as well.

Too hear that idiot Sid Seixeiro yesterday you would think they gave up a Cy Young winner and/or one of the other young aces.

Plus I hear many people getting bent out of shape over Beeston. Did he not want out for some time now ?
Do not misunderstand I really like Beeston, but I think he has kind of grown stale. He has been with the Jays from Day One.

Seixeiro is an idiot when he hosts by himself. I like that show, but it needs Tim Micallef to calm Seixeiro the hell down.

I agree, what if Duquette makes a trade or draft pick that eclipses the draft pick they give up?

Wouldn't that by itself make it worth it?

That would be AA's job wouldn't it?

The only real positive I see in the whole thing is that a new president might be able to loosen the purse strings somewhat.

Hoffman is seen as a red hot prospect and that's obviously why the O's want him. I think they should offer Kawasaki. At a pinch Kawasaki and Tolleson.

Not necessarily, but you would think he would have valuable inputs. Depends on how they structure the duties once Beeston is gone. For the Cubs, Theo Epstein is the President of Baseball Ops and he has a GM working below him. Yet he gets intrinsically involved in personnel decisions. Similar situation with the Dodgers, where the ex-Rays GM is Head of baseball ops and has a GM below him. Yet Friedman had his fingerprints on the major player moves they made this offseason. Currently AA holds both titles.

i love Sid,tim is a useless tool,he only wants to talk about 1 sport and 1 sport only--basketball(the worst of the big north american 4)
we all know he is borderline white
tim is back on tuesday--watch & retch for yourselves as he turns most sports convos back to basketball--he tries too hard to be "urban"

If I'm running the Blue Jays I ain't doing this deal. The Jays stole Hoffman who dropped in the draft only because he got injured and had TJ surgery. He is a future ace in the making and the Jays aren't exactly flush with arms anymore after the deals they made the past 3 years. Besides you need elite pitching to win - look no further than SF.

Imagine a rotation that includes Sanchez, Stroman and Hoffman - that could be a reality by 2016.

It seems that the O's wanted more than just Hoffman. Insane from a BJ's perspective of course.

Norris is also expected to be competing for a spot in the rotation next year (if not sooner).
