Yanks lose as well. No harm done.
No. Not true at all.

This is exactly the worst of wasted opportunities. Letting a rival's loss go to waste.

The jays need to win the division by at least five games. Five.

This was you can set your pitching rotation for post season, condition and rest your marquee players and have a better shot at other opponents who will only stumble into the post season on the last day, weary and exhausted.

That the Yankees lost and we lost as well is a real shame. We need to create that distance and the sooner, the better.

Yes, but don't count the Yankees out just yet. They have been rather inconsistent lately but they have the horses to take it right down to the wire.

Although I also suspect Teixeira, Beltran and A-Roid may be getting tired...

September call-ups have been announced.

Loup - much needed lefty for late game matchups, hopefully we get 2014 Loup and not the 2015 version.

Tepera - another righty reliever, pitched well for the Jays this season in limited innings.

Dalton Pompey - extra outfielder/pinch runner, can give the regulars some rest when games get out of hand, really excited to see him back. I think the early struggles are behind him.

Kawasaki -cheerleader and mascot, probably won't see much playing time with Goins and Pennington already here. Could pinch run.

Jeff Francis - lefty starter, probably will be the new long guy, shifting Hendriks to a more important role.

The minor league season ends Sep.7th, so they can still add more players. I think Gibby said recently they'll only call up players likely to play.

Steve Delabar, Roemon Fields, and Matt Hague's chances are looking slim now.
Fields isn't on the 40-man roster so someone will need to be dropped.
Chad Jenkins appears to be the forgotten man down there.

Certainly, you don't expect the Jays to win every game. As such, when they do lose, it is preferable to do so in conjunction with a Yankee loss as opposed to a Yankee win in which case they lose a game in the standings. With both teams losing, they lose no ground.

Players getting too much rest isnt good either because they will start to lose sharpness and timing at the plate.

I think about 1 week rest is enough, so winning AL by 1 or 2 games should be plenty, including the time they get off already from sitting out the wildcard game. AL playoffs dont start till Oct. 8th, thats plenty of off time

Got a bad feeling Estrada is going get lit up tonight. He's due for a stinker. Luckily for him the Jays bats should be alive against a guy who's 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in his past 5 starts. Could be a slugfest at RC.

You're right, Draper. There are about 30 games left. It's a shame if they don't go 30-0. No other MLB team has ever played more than .700 over an extended period. But YOUR team must do better. Or you will be mad at them.

So let's go stamp our feet and kick the TV set.

Great. Another amateur fan who has hopped on the bandwagon.

As long as they match up in wins and losses until the last two series against them we are fine. Then we need to take 2 of 3 and hopefully 3 of 4 to put them far enough in a hole.

Hoping for at least five games ahead is nice but I'll settle for 1 game ahead thank you.

Osuna blows the save and we're headed for extra innings. Yanks have won so we need to get this one. Unfortunately for the second night in a row the Jays can't hit worth a shit.

Goins with the walkoff!! Jays are finding new ways to score with 3 sac flys and great pinch running by Dalton Pompey.
