Toronto has lost three in a row for the third time in 2008. The Blue Jays have scored just 21 runs in their last seven games while batting .211 as a team.

3B Scott Rolen played in his third rehab game for Class A Dunedin on Wednesday and was 0-for-3 with a strikeout. Overall, he is hitless in nine trips

This could get ugly unless they can turn things around pretty soon.

Turning point seemed to be when McGowen walked 2 batters, consecutively despite being ahead of the batters.

No batting strength by the top order plus acute single innings loss of form by Marcum, Halliday and most recently McGowen spells disaster.

Maybe they were too slow replacing MCGowen when he was obviously starting to miss his spots? Can say that of course in hindsight.

They just can't make runs despite getting themselves in situations where a sacrifice fly would do it, as in the 9th innings last night. Always seem to be looking for that big hit. :(

something about Doc:

What to make of Halladay's start to the season? He's thrown three complete games in five starts, but lost two of the three. He's posted a nice 25-6 K/BB ratio, but has also seen his ERA climb to 3.73 on the season. In short, Halladay has been very good but hasn't quite settled into a groove where he is truly dominant

Halladay is the best player on the team and the classiest. I believe he needs run support. I don't think anyone can argue with that.

looks like the "Bad News Jays" managed to lose another one....

defense was AWFUL tonight....it looked like it could have been a good idea to bring BJ to pitch in the 8th (lord knows he did it plenty of times during 2006) the only good thing about them losing like this (swept by Tampa, lost to KC in the bottom of the 8th) is that Gibbons days have got to be numbered by now

I don't think BJ's arm is at full strength yet. So to bring him in in the 8th and then expect him to pitch the 9th might be a little much to ask this early in the season. As for Gibbons, I'm not sure he's the problem or they just don't have the horses. I say give it another 25 games or so and then reevaluate tha situation. But where I'm sitting it's GM that's the problem. Might be time for a house cleaning.

That was painful to watch after the excitement of watching the Jays score 3 in the top of the 8th to come from behind.

I'll still maintain the Jays have a decent roster but the players are not playing to their potential. Whether that's their doing or Gibbons' or some combination thereof is hard to say but if this continues and changes need to be made it's always easier to change the manager than the whole team.

Maybe somebody else can get more out of them. I wonder if a guy like Cito Gaston could turn around a team in midseason. I have it on good authority that he's pretty good at that sort of thing.

it is not mid-season yet.....although it seems longer but they have only been playing for a month

I feel that the pitching will come around again whether it be starting or relief. What I question is the run support. They need to get the bats going.
I am disappointed with Stewart and I hope Adam Lind will be called up soon as he should be. I think last year was a learning experience for Lind and he did have some tough times but no one can question his potential.

I can't believe the Jays went after Barajas again this year. After the fiasco last year, you would think that the Jays would stay away. Fat chance.
It's not like he is a superstar. Save some money and bring up Diaz to cover for Zaun on his off days. I amnot sure how Curtis Thigpen sits in the eyes of Jays management as he has had a slow start to his season.

Let's hope they can turn this around because it already looks like a disaster.

After 4 innings the Jays are now 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position. Excuse me while I get my calculator to figure out what that percentage is.

Its funny cause the Jays have the 4th best OBP in the AL they also have
one of the best pitching staffs and a great defensive team.

whats missing CLUTCH HITTING......How many times have you seen
men on base with no outs and the inning ends.

Wells and Rios are NOT the players to build a team around they are
Ok just not great.

Check out Shawn Marcum again tonight pitching a gem (as usual)

This team is lacking hitting just like last year.
