1977 was annis mirabillis stonati, still a few years from my 20th birthday with not a care in the world and higher than a kite.
In 1980 I made my first trip to Europe without my parents - I almost didn't get out of Amsterdam. I used the train ride from Holland to Milano to sober up. I didn't want to meet my relatives high, however some of my cousins also imbibed and were more than happy to share the wealth. I had a nice stash when I got to Vienna - a whole new realm of music opened up to me.
I shacked up in Paris with a French-Canadian girl and I got a job making pizzas. That was perhaps the happiest month of my life, when she started university it ended and I hit the road again.
Shacked up with a punk Fin girl in Copenhagen, what a party animal she was! To this day this song reminds me of her, we cleared a dance floor with it. And the dudes on the periphery kept drinking my beers.
I can't think of a better song, even works with you favourite imbibelment.
