I only just noticed as I was about to leave it an office!

I don't want the bank to think I'm defrauding them, but they clearly stamped 8000!

My home branch is closing in 10 mins and traffic:( I'm going to try and go to the branch I go to most regularly

If it hasn't been signed yet and still the way that you received it. Regardless, take it back to the bank and have it changed.

Probably not the first time that an extra 0 has been added. Can't see having it replaced would be an issue, other than the headache for going back to the bank.

It's a bit wet from the snow. But otherwise untouched. I had visions of being carted away like an international criminal

Make sure they don't charge you a fee for fixing the error. The bank is probably just testing your integrity.

In not persay worried about that, I'm more worried they will a) think I defrauded them! Or b) not do anything like void it and then I'm buggered.

Their mistake and not yours since they likely only removed 800 from the account. They should be apologizing to you.

I have a "package" with my bank. What is weird is that they charge me $10 for a certified cheque but a bank draft is free under my package (aka bundled bank services).

Kate,

No need to worry too much about this. As long as you have both copies of the bank draft, you can go back the following day to cancel the one you have and get the correct one. Make sure the bank does not charge you again for the correct draft amount.

Bmo just closed my account !! Wtf!
Probably suspended due to the added 0 on the draft. You withdrew 800, they wrote you a cheque for 8000. They probably want to discuss the $7,200 difference.

I wouldn't sweat it. Maybe call their customer care (But I'm not fond of the way BMO tries to deal with their fuck-ups)

True that, but if she had money left in her account after she took the draft out, BMO has now deprived her of access to her money until they re-open the account.
i bet you that if you read fine print in your bank agreement you would find out that they are entitled to deprive you of whatever they see fit and you are obligated to perform BBBJCMWS while they are doing it.
