Now that I know the TERB sentiment from this thread, how’s the actual sentiment up there in Canada?

Any animosity to US visitors? It’s funny, when I backpacked through Europe when Bush Jrs war was going on, I had to say I was from Canada since everyone was pissed at America. Now in Canada I might have to say I’m from one of those Nordic countries with a neutral accent.
When I traveled Europe in the mid 80's, I had a Canadian flag on my backpack...just to prevent any confusion on which part of North America I came from

This whole DEI mission is so problematic...Hire whoever you want and shut up about it.

It's the virtue signalling that is nauseating.
I agree to an extent.
I had a recent experience with someone I was talking to about a job and she introduced herself with a 30 second land acknowledgement.
Then signed her emails "Inclusively yours". lmao.
Yeah that sort of thing is tiring.

Okay, what's a land acknowledgement?...I know I'm going to regret this, lol.

''Providing a land acknowledgement at the beginning of an event or meeting gives time for reflection and demonstrates recognition of Indigenous lands, treaties and peoples.''

Some real hypocrisy there...If it's their land, give it back to them.

I wasn't aware it applied to individual meetings as well.
How do you even respond to someone saying that in a meeting lol.

I saw it at the remembrance day ceremony in Toronto but didn't know that it applies to individual meetings as well.

Stuff like this encourages major push back and then the social media wars start.

Unfortunately for the indigenous people they got overrun by a more powerful tribe...It's been happening ever since the birth of man.

I remember Rush Limbaugh calling it symbolism over substance back in the day.

"None is so deaf as who will not hear."
What does that even mean? Your whole argument of TDS is based on the fact that I don't like what I'm hearing from trump. So how can you now say that I'm deaf?

Dude, this makes no sense. That was a really weak comeback.

p.s. I know for sure that nobody sent you that. It is so poorly worded and structured that it had to be all yours. You butchered it.
