Easy to lash out in anger, call for his head. But unlike you I actually do care what factors contributed to him becoming the monster he is. Because my aim is to prevent recurrences, not exact vengeance.
Just federal. He has no jurisdiction over state law crimes. In the US - unlike Canada - criminal law is state jurisdiction, unless it involves an interstate or other federal jurisdiction nexus - i.e. income tax, air transport, etc.

You have me confused with someone else. I don't jump to conclusions, I arrive at them at a slow walk.
This is one time that I will disagree with CNN. They are bringing on a parade of people saying that this should be treated as a hate crime, that he was targetting Asians. If the guy knew and frequented these places and had internal struggles/feelings of guilt dealing with his own behaviour he would have shot them up regardless of what race(s) the massage providers were.
