No big loss, they're pretty cheap on Amazon
In bulk, around $2.

But plenty of scammers out there willing to sell dark plastic at a profit.

La la land
So is anyone going to be in Niagara Falls or anywhere having fun with a lady of the hour instead of looking at a 3 minute eclipse when it happens?
It could be your SO or Partner also.

That is one good thing about a solar eclipse - total darkness independent of cloud cover.
Weather forecasts, aside from general temperature trends aren't much good beyond 3 days out. If you are planning your day (or longer) around the eclipse, have a Plan B...

99.93%. Might not see the corona as clearly but should be good enough. Next one in Ontario won't be until 2048.

Still think it stupid that schools had their pa days moved because school boards are worried that it will be dark for a few minutes. Would be great for kids to have someone actually teach them what was going on instead of them sitting in their home splaying video games.
Class will be out by that time, or they'll be putting on their things to go, so what's the point? You want them to be on the bus home when it happens? They can learn about it, and their parents or guardians can take them out to witness it, or if they're old enough to witnesses it themselves and they decide to sit inside and play video games when it happens, that isn't their teacher's fault.

The Hotels at Niagara are really scamming their clients for rooms as being jacked up from their usual $100 price to a staggering $500 during this Eclipse Period.
But those who booked a year in advance are having their reservations cancelled as they only paid $100. This is the managements "explanation" for doing so:

'I don't understand': Families devastated Niagara Falls hotel cancels bookings made year ago for solar eclipse

That is such a crazy number of potential visitors.
I imagine a lot of them will be watching the eclipse from their cars while they are stuck on QEW on their way to Niagara Falls.
Thank God I have a sun roof.

My second date with a beautiful girl was to see the eclipse followed by a visit to the sites and dinner. I'm not great in bumper to bumper traffic. Maybe we'll detour to a local winery and watch from there.
