Happiness is the byproduct, not the goal.
A drug addict feels something, sometimes happiness, so does a hedonist, a glutton, a lazy person, a moocher, and a bully.
My philosophy is that we are primarily meant to DO something, not to FEEL something.
We would never exist unless countless thousands of years of our ancestors DID something.
I have felt some great sexual pleasure, for instance , in my life, but I would give it all up to have the one back.
I would give everything I own.
Happier without Joe Rogan, thanks...I agree with Rogan on this one.
I was digging this vid until that lying bitch said she's happily married! LOL. But I kid! Thanks for the vid!Age old question. Even 60 years ago many were uncertain.
Great film that not only deleves into the human experience as an experiment, but filmmaking itself as an experiment!
Wow I am so envious. The most I could ever do was play my guitars along to some blues records, (eg. B.B King "Live At The Regal", John Mayall "Beano" album, etc.) but not even close to note-for-note. I used to love it! Now I'm so old I don't even play anymore...Major edit...
I don't even know what makes myself happy anymore. It used to be playing my guitar, and learning new songs. I LIVED FOR THAT! I would sit with a tape recorder and some Van Halen, Ozzy, Hendrix, Zeppelin, RUSH, Malmsteen, etc and learn EVERYTHING note-for-note, and be happier than a pig in shit! That was my drug! I would chase that dragon all the day. I never thought I would lose that feeling. Well, after so many years, IT'S GONE! I try to think of how to get that feeling of true happiness back and honestly cannot think of anything...I'm afraid if I have become incapable of ever feeling 'happy' ever again.
Do you dance? It's a uniquely human trait and is a hallmark of youth and health. Happy people do it.
