Great thread - besides hobbying - have kept busy with various side projects, still work and enjoy my work hours, but also started to do things on the side, relive my youth years, built a custom Rush Arcade machine that took 6 months, play the guitar (learning Purple Rain by Prince - fck that solo is tough), have a routine that I get up early - hit up Tim's read my Classic Rock magazine - golf and ride my Indian Scout. In the winter - plan on joining The School of Rock and play with a band with whoever wants me  will be joining a bowling league for the first time - the key is to keep finding new stuff - but still enjoy our hobbying lifestyle.

My
I've done this. It's great a first but then it becomes ground hog day as you have done all the trails multiple times.
Lol, my mom is 80 ish, I visit occasionally for a few weeks. One time she was all into jigsaw puzzles, next time home I didn't see any puzzles, got boring. Even if you join events there's usually one or several people we all find annoying, know it all, too loud, bad breath, etc.

Sometimes I go to the mall and people watch. Many old couples sit and don't say a word to each other. Sometimes I'll see people alone, possibly widowed looking like they're passing time.

I got a dog. We go for walks every day. Play fetch. It helps me.

Also found a young stripper who really understands me. We talk in the club and have the most intense weekly session imaginable. That also helps me.
I like the dog part. This is the best solution I think as long as you are okay with getting up every morning rain or shine and walk the damn thing for an hour or paying a dog walker like $900 per month

Got a dog as well. To cope with my severe anxiety attack. A beautiful border collie. He’s doing tricks like crazy. But that mother fucker is more anxious than me 😷 The other day i had to calm him down because a shitty small chows-chows barked at him!

It does suck getting older. I am often bored. But i remind myself that the alternative to getting old is worst 🥺

Dogs are a lot of work and often people regret getting them.....vet bills, eating shit, fairly high maintenance, etc. A couple I know had their dog die, he was their whole life. A few months later they unexpectedly got another one as they were bored with each other.

As a guy entering his early 40s, do you "bored" guys regret not having a family? The novelty and fun of SPs is starting to wear on me. Yes, I get off on them but when dating regular civilians, I get bored of them after a few weeks and I become distant or disconnected. Also, the online dating has been hit or miss. I was on a good streak for a few months. Lately, its been a lot of wasted time conversing back and forth leading to last minute cancelled dates. I then revert back to a few regulars I see that do exactly what I want, whenever I want it and become content with that for a few weeks.

My dad cheated a lot and I don't want to turn out the same. He's now alone and pretty much waiting to die. I feel like I'm on the same path without ever having a family. So part of me thinks I should put some effort into it so I don't regret it in 20-30 years from now.

I'm 61 and a life long bachelor.
Never had any regrets about not having kids or a wife.
Can't beat total freedom.

Could be worse. I've got one regular who now doesn't want to anything that I want, whenever I want it. All she wants to do now is lick my ass and suck my cock. Which might sound good, but it is a pale reflection on what she used to do. In a tacit acknowledgement that she knows she is underperforming, she dropped her price. Oh well.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I'm early 50s and married. The marriage is fine but sexless. I sometimes think about having had kids but mostly am glad I didn't.
The one thing I would say based on observing friends is, the MOST important thing in having kids is having them with the right woman. Having them with the wrong
one is a nightmare. Emotionally, financially and most importantly for the kids themselves. Also, those kids will often end up having the toxic personality traits of the
she-devil that birthed them.

I think this is where women differ. One - we can have kids basically full time regardless of a relationship status.

But two - we are able pair bond with friends in a deeper way then men I think. I will be single all my life going forward. I get the sex I want from escorting. The companionship, the attention and compliments and dates etc but I don’t have any of the bad that comes with relationships. I do however have very strong loving bonds with a few friends. Just a handful but I don’t need anymore than that. That is satisfying enough. So I don’t feel lonely at all. I feel like I have found a life balance that is basically perfect.

Add in a pet or two and I couldn’t be happier or more fulfilled in my life.

So. Obviously begs the question. Why are you married? No kids. Sexless marriage. Tell me there's a point to it.
