The last two paragraphs...Considering the polish that google maps has achieved, I don't get why apple insists on building it's own lesser app.
Actually Adobe announced the discontinuation of flash on mobile devices.... so not so much.apple thinks it is a threat to a company to say "if you don't do what we say we won't let you on our product" flash didn't give a fuck and now neither does google and my guess is they will both be just fine.
actually steve jobs said he would never allow flash on one of his products ever and they just kicked google off their product cuz google said they were gonna keep doing their own thing and to bad if you don't like it.Actually Adobe announced the discontinuation of flash on mobile devices.... so not so much.
Google would be welcomed to put a maps app on the iPhone or users can use the web version.... Apple wrote the UI for Google Maps on the iPhone anyway... that's the easy part.
OTB
Here is another explanation....Considering the polish that google maps has achieved, I don't get why apple insists on building it's own lesser app.
Again your wrong. I'm sitting at a mac pro that uses flash......actually steve jobs said he would never allow flash on one of his products ever and they just kicked google off their product cuz google said they were gonna keep doing their own thing and to bad if you don't like it.
It's the antennagate of the iPhone 5... the bashers need something to bash.I talked about this with some really tech savy guys last night, certainly more than I, over coffee and they just laughed at the up roar. As to whether they were Apple fans or not, most of them work on both platforms, like myself.
Too funny: http://appleinsider.com/articles/12...torola-ad-faked-an-address-to-lose-ios-6-mapsMotorola jumps on the opportunity with new ad

and yet a simple search done on google maps for 315e 15th ny brings exactly what the ad show's.... 315e 15th street BUFFALO NY
To our customers,
At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers. With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.
We launched Maps initially with the first version of iOS. As time progressed, we wanted to provide our customers with even better Maps including features such as turn-by-turn directions, voice integration, Flyover and vector-based maps. In order to do this, we had to create a new version of Maps from the ground up.
There are already more than 100 million iOS devices using the new Apple Maps, with more and more joining us every day. In just over a week, iOS users with the new Maps have already searched for nearly half a billion locations. The more our customers use our Maps the better it will get and we greatly appreciate all of the feedback we have received from you.
While we're improving Maps, you can try alternatives by downloading map apps from the App Store like Bing, MapQuest and Waze, or use Google or Nokia maps by going to their websites and creating an icon on your home screen to their web app.
Everything we do at Apple is aimed at making our products the best in the world. We know that you expect that from us, and we will keep working non-stop until Maps lives up to the same incredibly high standard.
