NOT as embarrassing as not making it all...Did all those LEAFS that refused to wave their NO TRADE CLAUSES help the leafs future?

Do you think the leafs FUTURE will be more embarrising because of THAT?

I certainly do!!! They ended up getting nothing for players that won't be in Toronto next season. NOW THAT is embarrising!!!
What do the Leafs have to do with anything?

A team with Ottawa's talent, experience and expectations should NEVER be swept, particularly by an inexperienced team like the Penguins. That is why it was embarrassing - from Stanley Cup finalist to first-round sweep at the hands of a very young Pittsburgh team.

NOT trying to argue but a few posts in here claimed it was better to NOT make the playoffs than get swept...which I disagree with.

That young and inexperianced Pittsburgh team is picked by a lot of the "experts" to come out of the Eastern Conference.

To ignore the injuries that OTTAWA had is not being very objective and sounds like you simply DISLIKE OTTAWA...They did not get very good goaltending in two ofthe four games and could not kill of all of the penalties they took...missing three of their top penalty killers (Alfredsen, Fisher, and Kelly). They were 1 minute from pushing game 2 to OT...so I think it is wrong to talk about it be embarrising... They were competive games as I was at all four. And don't through the They only led the series for 4.5 minutes...as Montreal has only led the series with the FLYERS for the last shot at OT in game 1...but you can't really claim the FLYERS are dominating the series.

JUST A LITTLE OBJECTIVITY!!!

The fact is that you can't get swept if you don't make it...I find it more embarrising NOT TO MAKE IT IN AT ALL.

Since I'm not a Leafs fan and far from a Sens hater, but instead a neutral hockey realist, I am being objective. You're the one acting like a homer and Leafs hater.

I was terribly disappointed with the Sens lack of heart and expected a lot more out of that team. Too bad you're so blinded by your love of a flawed team and your hatred for all things Blue and White that you can't see the difference and set your expectations so low...

easy guys, you all make valid points...

i think one thing we often have to remind ourselves is that IMO does not equal objectivity.

The Rangers are having a difficult time with this same young PENS team...and while I do have SENS season tickets (bought them last year when the FLYERS weren't going to make a playoff appearance...because I love hockey) I'm not so JADED that I wouldn't admit that they sucked.

I've been a FLYER season ticket holder for 17 years...

RANGERS are down 2-0 so I guess by your standard...if they lose the next two, they should feel embarrissed for making the playoffs...

MONTREAL has not had a lead in the series agaisnt the FLYERS (except for the final shot in OT of game one) but that doesn't mean that they haven't shown up to play...

and I don't hate the Blue and White...I just don't feel there STARS enaled them to do what the FLYERS did in the offseason because they would't wave their no trade clauses...if they had MAYBE the LEAFS new management could have engineered a quick turnaround for some of the most loyal fans in hockey. NOW it will take a lot more time to turn this around because they couldn't pick up a Coburn, Timonen, Hartnell, Upshall, Parent, Biron using the value of UFA's that agreed to wave their no trade clauses.

Were the SENS good in the Playoffs...obviously no...but how good would any team be missing three key players?

I know the FLYERS lost 10 straight games this season when they had a rash of injuries.

I was in Ottawa for their two home games...there was effort in those games...they were simply beaten by a better team...that happens in hockey.

Any chance of seeing Pat Quinn behind SENS bench?

Anyone know the history between Quinn and Murray...I always liked Quinn's toughness and the toughness that his teams showed on the ICE...I'd love to see him as the SENATORS next coach...

most likely just wishfull thinking on my part.

I'd like to see Randy Cunnyworth as the next coach of the Sens!

He has won at every level of coaching. Former captain of the Sens & 67's.

I was thinking Pat Burns but Cunneyworth also makes sense. Where is he coaching right now?

I don't know who will own who... but I think both are going to be amongst the 10 worst teams in the leauge next year.
