With the 2009 season at almost the halfway mark, Aaron is having a "Roberto Alomar" type season.

different type of player... robbie was the best toronto defensive second baseman ever.... hill has surperior power and likely will end up being more of a jeff kent type player... which is still awesome

Ryan Howard almost took Hill's head off with that shot in the 7th great play by him and Scutaro to turn that DP to help get Romero out of that jam there in the 7th.

Alan Ashby said something a year ago at this time before Hill got injured, that caused me to raise a Spockian eyebrow because it was a thought I'd never entertained before.
Anyway he said Aaron Hill had the potential to one day lead the American League in hitting and the way he's making contact with the ball this year he could be right.
Hill's swing has that Paul Molitor look to it. That's a very good thing.

he is having a different season than alomar more pop/rbi less sb and not as good defensively hill may well become the best run producing 2b the jays have ever had

I think Aaron Hill can be as good or even better than Roberto Alomar.
Nearly six years before the Travis-cano comparison you did the above terrible one.

You can be proud of your young players, but you need to tone it down with your comparisons of players to hall of game level players.

Has nothing to do with jinxes... They are just absurd comparisons to make for players who have not had the prospect pedigree or prior seasons (major or minor) to show they project to potential hall of fame level players.

I can say I only labelled one young player as a fan of the team the first time I saw him... Vladimir Guerrero. And even he may have to wait a while.

Aaron hill has had a solid career. He will end up with about 1500 hits... He made a nice comeback for a few good seasons with the d backs. His head was such a mess when he left the jays.

Great find and post Mo.

Unfortunately I doubt it will have much impact on the enormous number of "experts" that are TERB residents.
