My ATF Gap Band tune. That riff is r&b magic. From their 1980 album The Gap Band III

More Philly soul. A classic from 1975. Damn Teddy what a voice.

The lyrics to this song are pretty relevant to modern times.

Heard this one on the Groove yesterday. Post disco era. Did not know that BB&Q stood for the Broooklyn, Bronx and Queens band.

I personally find the 1971-1976 Marvin Gaye to be at his pinnacle. From What's Going On to I Want You.

Flipped into a 90's r&b/hip hop collab between Foxy Brown and Blackstreet

One of the most important tracks in hip hop culture. The Winstons 'Amen Brother'. Its a great 3 minute instrumental but the highlight is the drum break starting at 1:26 and lasting for 7 seconds.

That particular break has been sampled by thousands of hip hop songs over the years. The most notable one being this classic from NWA in 1988. Dr. Dre just slowed it down.
