I live next to a railroad crossing. Perfectly safe crossing the tracks, I've done it [it's part of the street crossing]. The only way you could get run over is if you are trying to kill yourself or is you are extremely stupid. Sure 4 year olds are not the sharpest tools in the shed but still, and that kid had family around. For fucks sake

That family should be sued for any emotional damage done to the train operator and for clean up costs and should be forced to move to Cornhole Ontario where they can live among their derpy kind.

TL; DW: She was playing at the park with her older sister and chased a butterfly down the path that leads to the train tracks. The parents didn't know of the path's existence.

You sound really dumb right now.

Also no sense in blaming the parents.
Blame will not bring their daughter back.
Also blaming someone else is just an excuse to get angry.
I’m certain they have a lot of family members doing that already and will be blaming themselves the rest of their days.

You sound really dumb right now.
Those facts were presented after I posted. So actually it is you who sound really dumb right now.
Go back and read the thread from the start.

Perhaps you should have waited for the "facts" to come out from reliable news source, and then make an educated opinion.
Also calling people "derpy kind" not the kindest or less hateful thing to say about two parents that recently lost their young daughter.
Sounds quite ignorant to me.
"More salt for your wound sir?"

You made a reactionary post calling for suing the family and banishing them to bumfuck nowhere in Toronto before the facts were presented. This family is grieving and you’re on a message board saying the family should be punished even more despite losing their 4 year old daughter tragically. As a Canadian (hell as a human being actually) you should have some more compassion for others.

Buddy can’t even spell doctor correctly. I wouldn’t be surprised if he required assistance from someone else to wipe that egg off of his face.

The account sounds like the parents were away and the kids were
playing under no adults' supervision. If this is indeed what it was like
then it is a case of blatant if not criminal negligence.

There is an interview of a guy who was working in a garage nearby
at the time of the accident. He told of seeing other kids (presumably
the siblings of the dead child) were taken by an adult a while after
the 4-year old was killed and went away. Don't know who the adult
was but sounds bizarre if the dead kid's mom or dad would just run
away before their daughter was picked up by the ambulance.

Chasing Butterfly story seems to be an after thought.
Whatever be the circumstances, Kids ( and that too of such young age) should never be left unsupervised.

A child is dead and no amount of blame game or fault finding is going to bring her back!
Focus should be on averting such incidents in future.

- Kids and Parents residing in the areas adjacent to railway tracks should be made aware of / educated about dangers of lurking / playing around railway tracks.
- If People in the area are really using the path for commutation because of shorter distance then Councillor of area needs to be taken to task. There needs to be an overhead footbridge for people to use.

If parents are so incompetent that they end up getting their 4 year old killed through incompetence then fuck compassion. Fuck compassion in it's ass. 4 year olds dude.
As I said earlier, this who kid wondered off to catch a butterfly and the adults were not around was posted afterwords.

So if my words caused you pain. Good. I am happy. Suffer.

It's an obvious typo. If you can't tell the difference it's on you not me. You can't fix typos in your user name. I asked for a name change but it was ignored.
Don't you feel stupid again.

Just give up. You are so desperate to score points against some rando on the internet and yet you keep making yourself look the fool.

Nobody does that. I just go with what people say. I went with the facts as others presented them. If you should be trying to score points it should be with them.
Also this isn't a court of law, it's just people chatting on some forum. I am sure you have done the same thing. Actually I know you have done the same thing on some forum or in person.
Also based on the facts presented at the time I posted, derpy kind is not harsh enough words for parents who got their daughter killed through incompetence which again was the story at the time of posting. Like fuckers who leave their dog or kid in a car on a hot day to die. Fuck them.

But I suppose you are keen to support parents who murder their kids through incompetence. Maybe it gets you an erection.

Sounds to me the only people wounded here are you and your snowflake friend.

Lmao no I don’t feel stupid. I’m not the right wing dumbass on here calling for criminal charges and against banishment against parents who just lost their child. Ridiculous how morons like yourself consider yourselves as “patriots.”

Idk man you’re the one accusing people of getting off to kids tragically dying. Kind of like how you and your Trump buddies accuse everyone of pedophilia. Which makes me 100% sure that it’s you who is the pedophile after all 🤔

Man times have changed. When I was a kid, it was perfectly normal to play outside nearby when I was 5 or 6 with other kids unsupervised. So maybe 4 is a few years to young. I don't know.

Still seems like a huge reach that the parents should be charged.

because they only charge parents in the case of obvious neglect. This does not fall into that category. The loss of a child is a greater punishment than any Canadian judge can impose. Leave it be, lesson learned.
This was obvious neglect though. the kid is 4 years old...I never even let my 8 year old wander out of my sight when he's with me.

That's a good point. That case is particularly weird. Looking up more info on it now, apparently they were watching a train coming in front of them, and were so preocupied they didn't notice the one coming behind, even though the light was in the photo.
"What they didn’t realize was that the bright lights in the top right side of the photo were actually the headlights of an oncoming train from the other direction." One of the conductors of the train that hit them said it seemed like they "were in their own little world."
the case was different though...they were only concentrating on the train they can see...they didn't know there's a train coming from the other direction and probably didn't know the noise was coming from that direction.

You're right, that case is not a good example of how quiet trains can be. The video where I first came across it didn't explain they were focused on another train and any sound from the train coming up behind them would have been drowned out anyway.

But still, I think the point stands, there are cases (a few in that video) where people didn't hear them coming until surprisingly late.
When I used to hear people say that trains can sneak up on you, I thought that was a pretty stupid warning, and I assumed you'd have to be practically deaf to not hear one coming. But after looking it up, apparently that's not the case.

I think we lost track of the main point in case here....that is why are people on these train tracks its just not a place to be.
Would you stick your finger into a electrical socket ....live or not knowing if it was? No because we know what happens if we do .
The roads are dangerous enough why the tracks?
In respect to the family loss and the little girl RIP. Maybe we should close this thread
