I've done a few Google searches and the results appear to support your impression that no physical evidence was presented. The jury believed the testimony of two accusers.

The first accuser said he drugged and raped her in 2003, then she filed a police report in 2004. The jury believed her testimony and convicted.

The second accuser was his ex-girlfriend who went to police 15 years after she said he raped her. The jury was deadlocked on this.

The third accuser said she was drugged and raped in 2003, and she filed a police report in 2017. The jury believed her testimony and convicted.

Is this the accuser who received money from Masterson? It seems odd that there was a thirteen year gap before this became public.

Danny Masterson doesn't have the money to hire a competent lawyer.

He's built a career out of being an asshole, Ashton Kutcher should have kept his mouth shut.

Scientology can no longer afford lawsuits, the discovery could lead them to lose their religion status. If that happens the FBI will be on them like bleach on white shorts. Masterson and Kutcher were best bros. Kutcher has lead a Machiavellian career, eventually he was going to fuck up.

Masterson rape victim Christine Bixler.

Had Kobe Bryant not been a Scientologist, he wouldn't have ordered his pilot to fly his helicopter into an overcast low pressure system.

I was trying to find out who his lawyer was. Shawn Holley. Is this her? If so, her phone must be ringing off the hook with new clients.

The fact of the matter Scientologists are difficult to defend, they've had too many sexual assults and enforced servitude allegations leveled against them. With the verdicts to R Kelly and now Danny Masterson, the courts are saying BASTA (enough is too mild). The cult will circle the wagons around their top tier but those below could be getting picked off for their conduct. I'm not sure what will happen with their religious organization status, eventually to quote Christopher Walken:

And Billy Hayes thought he was getting off bad....Words of comfort from the judge
I had no sympathy for him in that film.

He was really, really stupid to try something like that, in a country like that. He knew the rules and the consequences of being in a jail in a country such as that.

the idea that a jury of twelve randomly chosen tax payers who don't necessarily know anything about the law
In my personal experience (a juror in a 1st degree murder trial), the court, and possibly the attorneys, make sure that the jury members become well informed of the law as it applies to that particular case even if they are ignorant of the law prior to the trial.

He fully owns up to it as can be seen in his many interviews on youtube.

Yes it appears to be. I wasn't aware of this payoff.

Meanwhile, Jen B. agreed she would not “damage his reputation” and affect his future earnings.

If she broke the agreement, she was to pay $200,000 per violation.

Oh well. On the upside, looks like Danny is up for a payday..

An NDA to conceal a crime is legally unenforceable.

Kudos to Ms Henein, but she won the Ghomeshi case because she got the email records of the 3 accusers and proved that they had connived and fabricated the accusations. Without that, it was just another plain old "he said / she said".
Yes. Collusion in that case, but I would rather have her on my case rather than the lady who got him 30 years. I think Henein might have done a little better. I think I might have done better than the twat who represented him.

If I recall correctly, it’s not that they fabricated it necessarily. It’s that they denied the communication between them under oath and therefore lost credibility.
