I don't think Joe is particularly concerned with salary at this juncture..Nice! Didn't think we'ld get him at that price.
Career earnings entering the 2020-21 season: $109,187,195.

Marner's a special player, you would have to be nuts to pass him up.Indeed. Like Marner vs Hanifin. I think Babs at the time wanted to draft the D.
Having signed Spezza, Thornton and Simmonds (combined age of 110 years) the Leafs are reportedly looking to round out their defensive corps by making an offer to Randy Carlyle instead of Dermott. Stay tuned. Now just ship out Kerfoot for a pick or two, and they can sign Dermott and that Russian kid
Draft picks don't have to be signed for quite a while, and even if they are, they don't count against cap unless they're with the big club. Now just ship out Kerfoot for a pick or two, and they can sign Dermott and that Russian kid
I'm not the source of that quote, Indiana is.Draft picks don't have to be signed for quite a while, and even if they are, they don't count against cap unless they're with the big club.
I'd be hesitant to move Kerfoot.
I’m hoping with better health Simmonds can play on the top two lines and on the second pp unit. That’s where he can create more room and confidence for the skilled guys. Playing on the 4th line for 5 minutes a game is not going to help much. It’s a low risk high reward pickup. Now we're talking.
This will change things a bit.
If Thornton and Simmonds show some legs, they can move them up and down the 3rd/4th line.
If he has the legs why not, although I wouldn't mess with Hyman's chemistry on the 1st.I’m hoping with better health Simmonds can play on the top two lines and on the second pp unit. Apologies, not sure how I messed that up.I'm not the source of that quote, Indiana is.
If free agent salaries are an indication of talent level, are we to believe that Bogosian is a lesser player than Ceci?In former Maple Leafs news, Cody Ceci has signed a 1 year, $1.25Mm deal with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Bogosian takes an unpredictable head-case discount. If free agent salaries are an indication of talent level, are we to believe that Bogosian is a lesser player than Ceci?
I'm not that familiar with Bogosian's game.
I don’t know a lot about Bogo either except from what I saw how he played for the Lightning. I thought he was better defensively than what I’ve seen from Ceci, Barrie, Holl and Rielly and he showed grit. I read that he had had some injuries that hindered his career and hopefully that is not going to be an issue. Bottom line, if he could play meaningful minutes for a championship team, he’s good enough for the Leafs. If free agent salaries are an indication of talent level, are we to believe that Bogosian is a lesser player than Ceci?
I'm not that familiar with Bogosian's game.
The Leafs traded Kapanen and Johansson to make cap room but also because they are pussies and can’t keep going in the playoffs playing slap and tickle hockey...Leafs now have 3 number 1 overall draft picks on the roster. Spezza was 2nd overall. Imagine if Joe plays center on the 3rd line and Spezza on the 4th that could be a 1 1 1 2 center line up.
Leafs may put together the oldest and the cheapest 3rd line at the same time.
For those asking why Leafs traded Kapanen for a draft pick when they're in a win now mode you should know how the salary cap works by now.
Ceci is younger and hasn’t had the same chronic injury problems as Bogosian. If free agent salaries are an indication of talent level, are we to believe that Bogosian is a lesser player than Ceci?
I'm not that familiar with Bogosian's game.
Expectations were high, he was a #3 overall pick, he disappointed teams...expectations aren't going to be as high in Toronto.Ceci is younger and hasn’t had the same chronic injury problems as Bogosian.
Bogosian last played a full season in ‘09-‘10.
Buffalo essentially ran him out of town In February, and when he was traded from Winnipeg to Buffalo 5 years ago the Jets fan base appeared quite happy about it.
Hey Catherine, awesome you're a hockey fan...and yes, 2021 can't come soon enough.I still remembered how did the Leafs lost to Boston Bruins was their power plays and our third line weakness. Those are the areas the Leafs need fix. I'd hope whatever the trade goes would help the Leafs raw talents shine through.
Can't wait to see the new Leafs season starts with the mixed young and seasoned raw true talents bring out the joy we deeply missed in 2020.
Let's flip the page to 2021 now!
Go Leafs Go!
