McDavid gets a minus when his team gets scored on and they have shitty goaltending, it happens a lot...
Hence why I included Draisaltl who the last I checked has the same goalie. Try again. I'm sure you'll come up with something.

You and your stats are annoying...are you saying Draisatl is better than Mcdavid because of his plus-minus?

What are you trying to say?

Plus minus does not count power play goals which is where the better players often play...but yet plus minus counts empty net goals where one team doesn't even have a goalie, shoot the puck in from center and you get a plus.

The better players will be on the ice for both goals for and against because they play a lot...the weaker players won't have big numbers because they don't play a lot.

I know Fun likes stats so here's more.
Andersen is 14-1-2 lifetime against Edmonton so bringing this up could be the kiss of death.
Leafs are 3-0 against Edmonton in games where Matthews does not play and Matthews is playing tonight so not a good sign.

Good news for everybody. Nylander is playing today after missing practice yesterday. It will give us something to talk about tomorrow.

This I can agree with you. He’s like a half full/half empty cup. Some say half full is good enough but some say not. For or against comments will incite intense responses and we will be sounding like a broken record over and over.

That race between Mikheyev and McDavid was the highlight of the first period. Our guy won the race and the puck battle 👍

I'm speechless, I really thought the Leaf would put up a stinker or Edmonton and McDavid would be dominant. The Leafs really impressed all three games. Those were the best 3 games of the season.

This is the way they wanted to play in last years playoffs but they didn't have the personnel.
Ceci out Brodie in
Barrie out Bogosian in
Marincin out Muzzin in
This more than anything else is the difference.
Simmonds in for Vesey on the 4th line.
Trade Kerfoot for an upgrade and the 2nd line is set.
The 3rd line looks very good with Hyman on it now. Micky is fast and Engvall is big and fast.

Perfectly written mate. I like Kerfoot, but he is the one to go if we upgrade.

The Leafs were better in every facet of the three game series, goaltending, defence, puck battles, specialty teams, top players performance, coaching..... Other than the goaltenders and Nylander, the other guys who were noticeable and impactful were Hyman, Bogosian, Brody, and Mikheyev. You could probably name a few more guys and no one will disagree.

The one guy I would single out to praise is Hyman. Man I just love how this guy plays the game. Never takes a shift off whether he’s on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or pk. If there’s another guy who works harder and produces as much, I’d like to know who that is. I just hope he’s a Leaf for the rest of his career.

I remember SARSstock, Ralph Klein was there - he looked like he had a turd in his mouth. He must have taken an extra long shower back at the hotel, to get the Toronto filth off his purity.

What the Leafs did to the Oilers.

Every facet aside from hits so it's time to throw that proof out the window.
Let’s not lose sight of the fact that these are regular season games against mediocre teams that didn’t pass the first round (except the Canucks) over the last three years (could be longer). The Leafs have yet to prove they can win against better teams which will go another level with both intensity and physicality in the playoffs. All they have proved that they can beat these very average teams in the first 20+ games.

ps I do agree that the compete level of the defence is much higher with Bogosian and Brody, and Dermott is not backing down when pushed.

Who cross-checked Dermott? Darnell Nurse wanted to fight Dermott in game 2, while the Leafs defenseman was getting up, Bogosian got in the way. It was a pick on someone your own size thing. I don't know if Bogosian can actually fight but he appeared to take the starch out of Nurse.

Bogosian had fights with some tough dudes like Kessler (win) Clifford (draw)and Reeves (lost on points, but who doesn’t). He doesn’t fight much but is a physical presence.

Leafs 18 wins and 6 losses.
For those that like math that's a 3 to 1 ratio.
The only other team with a 3 to 1 ratio win rate is TB with 15 wins and 5 losses.
Vegas has a shot to get there with 13 wins and 5 losses.
No other team is even close.
Boston unbelievably is now 2 pts from 5th in the Division.
lets be honest here, the marlies could kick the shit out of edmonton.
