I don’t think it’s any coincidence the Scabs have sucked since Guy Carbonneau left...

The problem with the Habs is that their star goalie is not playing,
Carey Price hasn't play one game this season. It's going to be really hard to replace a once in a generation goalie like Price but the Habs have done before. Price replaced Roy
who replaced Dryden who replaced Vachon who replaced Worsley. (Montreal even had Esposito in their system but let him go because they already had Vachon and Dryden.)

the defense sucks
Weber (retired?) and Edmundson haven't played in a game yet. That has to hurt.
and they have no attack.
In the 2021 playoffs the Habs got scoring from all 4 lines plus the PK scored 4 goals. Not a scoring machine but enough to win 13 games (3 short of the Cup).

Excuses are for losers.

Google "Montreal system" and there is nothing. Why, darts? Because you made it up.

What flavour is the Kool-Aid.

Leaf fan throws jersey on the ice, Leafs go 12-2 in November. Canuck fan throws jersey on the ice, everyone fired and win 4 in a row. Hab fan throws jersey on the ice, GM fired, waiting to put 2 wins together.

It's scary to think if the Habs get Shane Wright (2022) and Connor Bedard (2023)...oh but wait, they can't win draft lotteries for 2 consecutive years (The Oilers rule).

They'd screw it up...they'll pick players comparable to Nail Yakupov and Nolan Patrick.

If current Montreal management follow the script (Montreal system), their first priority is to get a young future HOF goalie via draft and/or trade . It is no accident that Worsley (HOF), Vachon (HOF), Dryden (HOF), Esposito (HOF), Roy (HOF) and Price (FHOF) have all been part of the system.

Price isn't getting any younger, plus he is experiencing physical and emotional issues.

Oh, give it up with the 'Montreal System'...

Historically, at least in my lifetime, Montreal has always tried to get the best goalie available via the draft and/or trade. No reason to change now with an aging Carey Price. Shane Wright and Connor Bedard are both forwards. Maybe trade them for a future HOF goalie.

Since this is the Christmas season, I avoided using the word "system" so a couple of members can relax and not go apeshit. LOL!

So you're saying any goaltender that played with Montreal that is in the HOF is because of the 'Montreal System"

-Gump Worsley won the Calder with New York and played the first 10 years of his career there, he only played 5 seasons with Montreal
-Rogie Vachon was mainly a backup in Montreal, his best years were in Los Angeles
-Tony Esposito played 13 games with Montreal

Rogie Vachon is an interesting case. He was in the Montreal organization (dare I say "system") from the time he was 18 in 1963 until he demanded to be traded in 1971 because he didn't want to play backup to Ken Dryden. So yes, he was a product of the Montreal organization ("system").

"It didn’t take long for Vachon to make an impact as a young goaltender. At the tender age of sixteen, Vachon was playing junior hockey in Montreal. Recommended to the Canadiens by Gilles Laperriere (Jacques older brother), there wasn’t a spot for Vachon on the Montreal Junior Canadiens, so he played with the Montreal NDG Monarchs in 1963-64. The following year saw Vachon split his time between the Junior B squad in Thetford Mines and the Junior Canadiens.

The process of making it through the Canadiens minor league system was a long and arduous process for Vachon. In the days before expansion the Canadiens farm system consisted of many minor league clubs spread throughout North America. Needless to say there were many goalies spread throughout, and with Vachon’s lack of height and size, the odds of him making it to the Canadiens were long indeed."

Vachon replaced an aging Gump Worsley and then he (Vachon) was replaced by Ken Dryden. Three HOF goalies. Montreal now needs a FHOF goalie to succeed an aging FHOF Carey Price.
