The Habs will face a pissed off Avs team after a 8-3 loss to the Leafs.
Did you honestly think a team has to be upset in order to beat Montreal?
Colorado played their backup goalie against a legit team with the most points in the league.
There was no shame in that loss.

These guys aren't too smart. They don't even understand the proper terminology.

A system is how you build a team.

Your on ice strategy is called something different. Tactics? I forget. I need to go look it up.

edit: OK. I found the proper terminology. Thanks dartsy.
System (model, template, etc.) is how one builds a team.

Style is how one plays the game on the ice.
They should be talking about style not system according to the person who invented the term Montreal System, darts.

The 'system' is the way your team is organized on the ice...5 on 5, PP, PK...

The "trap' is a system...the "1-3-1" is a system, the "2-3" is a system...etc.

System is not the way the GM makes moves and builds a team.

The crackdown on cross checking really hurt Montreal. Their game was built around the cross check.

But what about darts' quote?

Their game was built on paying off referees, NHL officials and of course the HHOF...The Montreal Canadiens are more dishonest than the Trump Campaign...

Sadly, Carey Price's (best goalie of his generation) days with the Canadiens might be numbered. My memories only go back to the post-expansion era. As far as I remember, the key priority for the Habs has always been to secure the best goalies. Since expansion, it is no accident that 5 HOF and one FHOF goalies have gone through the Montreal system. Some of the goalies that didn't make the HOF were also pretty darn good. Doubt any other NHL team can boast such a record.

Ya but they didn't call them in the playoffs, particularly Weber and Chariot cross checks on Matthews.
The crackdown started this season hence why it hurt them ... this season

Wow, I would never imagine that happening in Montreal.
Who would have thought Hab fans would look up to Leaf fans as an example in these troubled times in Montreal.
This is not the same team that went to the Cup Finals last season.

Price, Weber and Edmundson haven't played a game this season. The Montreal system relies heavily on the goalie and defense so losing Price (best goalie of his generation), Weber and Edmundson probably hurts them much more than most teams.

I just never imagined this would happen under any circumstance.
Has this ever happened before?

Scabs had 59 points in 56 games last year, it’s not like they were awesome last year.

The problem with the Habs is that their star goalie is not playing, the defense sucks and they have no attack.

Good coach tho.
