Just got home, last year I couldn't attend for obvious reasons. I wasn't going to miss out this time, had my mutantuozz on and a flask of Laphoraig to keep me warm.

Sweet Pirloesque pass by Gio to Altidore for the opening goal. He put enough spin on it to make it almost dead by the time Hoss got there, without having to control the ball, he had an extra second to challenge Frei. Last season Osorio played the trequartista position, he did well during the regular season but was almost non existent during the playoffs. What a difference Vazquez made! Good move on Vanney's part by starting Osorio instead of Armando Cooper, he redeemed himself and proved that you can win with Canadians. Michael Bradley was the MVP imho, he controlled the midfield and snuffed out every Sounders counter attack. We must be thankful that Niangollan made him surplus at Roma, DDR taught him well.

Redemption attained, this takes away the pain of the Azzurri vergonia.

Bradley played a perfect game. The best game I've seen him play and I'm glad it was for TFC and not the USA.

Not this time but he did deny us of a 7-0 win
I have to hand to that Swisster, he played an almost flawless game between the sticks. He scared me because for sure at one point I thought he was gonna stop everything, and then he choked. Hahahhaha.

Fuck him!!!!

Cheers :biggrin-new:

(respect to Frei though, one helluva game!!)

A bitter laugh.

TFC blogger Anthony Totera did his Italian language interview with Gio. In September he was incensed over leaving Gio off the Azzurri for their pivotal match against Spain. I rebutted that to include Gio meant leaving Insigne off the team. In the end it didn't matter since Ventura didn't use Insigne anyway.

Here's the rant.

Nah, Giovinco is an amazing player!! His problem is he plays in MLS.
If he played in Serie A he'd be starting every match for the Azzurri.

In fact, I think our little Atomic Ant wouldve easily broken down that Swedish defence.
But sadly enough I guess we'll never know

Gio and Insigne play the same type of game but Enzo is five years younger. Enzo is injured and Napoli is suffering, they got knocked out of the CL and couldn't score against Fiorentina. Lucky for us Gio stayed fit.

...and finally.

When MLSE gets it right, they have to be given credit.

When a professional MLS soccer club was announced for Toronto back in 2006, the city already had numerous fan clubs of major European teams. MLSE sent out representatives to mingle with these clubs, in a word "woo them like hot dates". It worked spectacularly, TFC had great attendance throughout the rough years. One of those representatives, who worked tirelessly to create a fan base for the club, was Brian Budd (RIP). Too bad he's not around to enjoy this.

TFC has raised the bar for other sports teams in Toronto. Poor Blue Jays, they will suffer years of mediocrity under Rogers. :devilish:
