I don't disagree, to an extent. Will this make a difference come next November? No....but the state of affairs for the US will. Inflation continues to rise, and Trump's policies are underwater with a majority of Americans. But, I also don't think that is the point of the protests. I think it sends a clear message to Trump and company that if they keep fucking around, they are going to find out. Mass protests. General strikes. Things like that. I'm not saying violence, but serious pushback against the White House's narrative. I thing considering how Trump has continued to weaken the guardrails, including lying to courts (with the Supreme Court saying they are powerless to punish Trump's administration for not following the law), there needed be a demonstration that the average American is not going to sit quietly and take it.
Now, will Trump and Company get the message? Probably not. But, showing defiance is important.
Also, I LOVE how Fox and the White House are trying to frame all those millions of people as paid agitators funded by Soros or what not. Stupid bullshit. I saw multiple MAGA morons on social media trying to pretend that live video from Boston or Denver was actually stuff from years ago or some shit. But I think it shows the Trump administration that they will see more of this if they keep it up.
Mah...this is nothing but the democrat base throwing a fit....they're about to lose the mid terms, they don't have any candidate they can prop up, they're doubling down on a failing strategy...they're disconnected...

I guess people can project anything they want on to the protests. It seems like you're piggybacking on to Butler to some extent. He has the protests as some kind of catalyst for unrest perhaps even revolution. We can all dream.
General or national strikes? No, we don't have a history of those kind of strikes. If and when we have a strike in the U.S. it's more goal-oriented as in specific economic goals sought by a specific group. You might see Amazon workers strike or slowdown for wage gains or work rules. Something like that.
For the most part, I think you saw 7 million (if you can believe that estimate) more progressive voters get together to rally. I don't think you get any persuasive generation out of that. Independent minded voters that I know are split between being sympathetic to the protest or they think it's over-dramatizing. I don't see any real change in independent sentiment.
PS- You were dramatizing U.S. gas prices just three weeks ago. Looking at seasonal trends and oil prices at the well, I was telling you in late September that gas prices were heading down.

So with that, when reading keep an open mind and do some independent fact-checking. That's not a criticism. That's advice I would give anyone here including myself.

The country was founded after protests against tariffs on the price of tea.
And since then there has been a long series of protests followed by change.
From protests from suffragettes, to black voters, to Vietnam, to BLM, Greta and now No Kings.
The question is whether or not the government changes after this movement as well.

As I said, this is not new for the police to do that.
They start violence, inflame the situation and then use that as a reason for more violence.
There is no convincing maple MAGA.
They won't accept the stats that 83% of BLM were non-violent or that the violence was largely from right wing agitators.

It means nothing.
It isn't an organized group.
The only official organization is the BLM Foundation, which has never engaged, promoted or sponsored any violent actions.
You couldn't possibly blame some local agitator's actions on a movement or the BLMF because the movement does not advocate for violence at all.
That would be like saying Phil or richaceg are guilty of Jan 6, because they are Trump supporters, when they likely weren't within a 5000 mile radius of D.C lol.
