Biden wasn't trying to take advantage of a country being invaded by a dictator.
The US paid 75% of the bill for the weapons used to kill Palestinians in Gaza, blocked UN ceasefire deals and attacked the ICC and ICJ over charges.
Without the US there would have been no genocide.
Both Biden and now trump.
Biden tried to give Ukraine enough weapons to stop more land being taken but not enough to risk Putin starting a larger war.
Didn't work.
Now trump is clearly aiding Putin and the EU ready to step in.
The US won't share intel to Ukraine so Putin is using as many missile attacks as he can.
But it also sounds like trump is realizing how obvious a puppet he's being and is trying to pretend he isn't.
If there was no terrorism, there won't be war...war kills a lot of people...mostly civilians.
If there was no occupation, like Russia occupying Ukraine, there would be no resisting the occupation.

Telegraph: Britain worked all day to restore Ukraine’s contact with the US
British officials worked ‘all day’ on Tuesday to restore contact between Ukraine and the United States after an altercation between Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office of the White House, the British newspaper Telegraph reported.
Earlier, the Telegraph newspaper reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer had asked Vladimir Zelensky to return to the White House and mend relations with US President Donald Trump after their meeting on Friday.
‘On Tuesday, British officials ‘all day at various levels’ were in contact with the US trying to secure Zelensky’s return,’ the publication said, citing a UK government source.
According to the source, it was an ‘ongoing conversation’ and not just phone calls.
US President Donald Trump told off Vladimir Zelensky at the White House last week when he arrived to sign an agreement on joint development of Ukrainian subsoil resources. The US president demanded that Zelensky agree to a ceasefire and stop criticising Russian President Vladimir Putin. Vice President J.D. Vance called Zelensky an ungrateful campaigner for the Democrats when he began justifying his moves, blaming Russia and even threatening the U.S. that it would feel the effects of the conflict even though it was separated by an ocean. The Kiev delegation was asked to remove themselves from the White House and no agreement was signed. Later, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said that Zelensky should come to his senses and return to the negotiating table, otherwise Ukraine would have to be led by someone else.

Once again it was NOT Trudeau who invited that Ukrainian War veteran, but the Speaker of the House who was then forced to resign over it.

You keep on buying constant far right conspiracy theories about Zelenskyy wanting "war" when all he wants is for the Russians to pull out its troops from Ukraine. What right does Russia have to annex Ukraine?
No one in their right mind would make any kind of deal with Trump. He's liar, cheat and a bad faith negotiator who breaks the deals he makes and constantly moves the goal posts. In short, an assclown of the highest order. The only time he ever told the truth was when he said whoever signed the USMCA was an idiot. Right on, Don, because it was you who signed that trade deal that you are now breaking.....idiot!
You have no idea how desperate the situation on the battlefield to Ukraine is.
Conclusion of the deal will not result in an immediate ceasefire. But without
the deal signed you can be sure more Ukrainians are going to be killed and more
infrastructures destroyed in the coming days.
If I were Zelensky I would have two options to consider.
I would first look to how the leaders of Germany avoided the responsibillity
of decision-making in ensuing peace talks near the end of WWI. Erich Ludendorff
and Kaiser Wihelm ll just stepped down so the ones to negotiate peace with the
allies were scapegoated later for the loss of the war.
Alternatively I would go ahead to sign the mineral deal. After hostlities
end on the battlefield and some sort of ceasefire agreement with Putin
reached I would see to it exploration and preliminary devlopmental works
on Ukraine's rare mineral mines would proceed smoothly. Once I decided
that sufficient capital expenditures have been channeled into mining operations
for Ukraine to take over I would nationalize all the U.S. controlled mines, kick
out American miners and confiscate their properties and mining equipments
The 2nd option which is a mission on the goal to defeat American
imperialistm may take some years to accomplish. Zelensky may have
to count on his successor to get the job done.
He wants trump to stop helping Putin attack Ukraine.
But trump has to listen to his boss.
I'm not even sure he has said that the security guarantees are a condition of the minerals deal.
The security guarantee conversation came up when the subject moved to diplomacy with Russia (when Z challenged JD on it).
The minerals deal (as last we saw it) just has this language.
"The Government of the United States of America supports Ukraine’s efforts to obtain security guarantees needed to establish lasting peace."
The mineral deal never was a hang up to security guarantees, it was beside the point.

The document that Trump agreed to had language expressly stating it was a first step as part of a path to peace and that the US supported Ukraine's efforts to obtain security guarantees.
He wants as much as he can get from both - like any other competent war leader!!
