My point is they were not self reliant.

You're trying to attributive everything to Russia, when they needed allies in China and NK to just continue, not even win.

Now US is in a trade war, who are they going to sell to? This is what allies and strategic alliances are for.

The world just needs to get together and shun the US completely. Which is bound to happen if Trump keeps going the way he is. Canada, Mexico, China, EU, Britain, etc.Trade among ourselves and be done with the US. It will take some time and we will feel a hit for a while, but it is time to move assets to a better investment. The US is not a good investment anymore.
