It's clear to me the real aggressor when it comes to tariffs all along is Canada. 243% and up on US dairy for years. Doug Ford had Trudeau not long ago slap 100% on Chinese EVs to protect the Ontario sector. The US and China have said they're impose retaliatory tariffs on Canadian goods but won't if Canada lifts theirs.

Why is it ok for Canada to impose tariffs but when Trump talks about matching them Canadians freak out? I get the main reason is they just don't like orange man who's exposing unfair Canadian trade practices.

It's funny watching Ford on TV puffing out his chest against Trumps talk of tariffs. Classic tactic of accuse the other guy of doing exactly what you are.
Clearly your judgement is suspect.

So Canada started the trade war with the US. Justin announced massive tariffs on the US, is that what happened and Ford just like COVID joined Justin to slap the US with a surtax on hydro out of nowhere?

My point is it seems Canada has had tariffs on US products (and other countries) for a long time out of protectionism.
Links to prove your point please.

What we hear is it's over the small tiny percentage of drugs that cross the border. If that were the case, WHY ARE WE responsible to protect their border when they do not protect us from guns and drugs coming from their end. DO NOT countries have border guards on their own side to search for drugs and guns?

From the orange horses mouth

Please do the same if you can to support your points.

lol, the 100% tariff on Chinese EV was because of America/Tesla.

Steele is made in Canada so it's makes more sense to produce parts in Canada. In addition to that, these parts travel back and forth over the border so it's not "stealing" the market away.

It's not the same as trying to flood Canada with cheap milk. There are risk factors you are not looking at, but of course that is intentional.

You mean the ones agreed to in 2018 and signed into power with Canada, Mexico and the US under trump?
The ones trump signed and then declared were unfair?

Canada USA have had a trade pact, first Nafta and later mucta, the latter negotiated by Trump, which includes tariffs from both sides.
