You advised him asap when he confirmed as requested the morning of. Good on you.
Adding 15 mins is a nice bonus on his rescheduled visit.
Just like on an earlier thread on communication.
No different if he needed to cancel the morning of. Sick or family issue came up or snow storm.

I think 'a bit of free time' is probably the best way to handle the situation. You end up with the same amount of money in your pocket, though less per minute, and the client feels like their understanding is appreciated. It's a nice gesture, and pretty much a win-win, IMO.

I used to see a service provider that is 2 hours aways from me. I have been in this situation where she or i had to reschedule. In the law of running averages, I think we both had life issues that we needed to change our plans. I never requested for monetary compensation.

But if this was a first time appointment and I had booked ahead of time, I do have intention to see the provider and see if we get along. Offer something more if he reboots. Offer the olive branch and maybe he will be one of the regular.

This is why I thought it would be an interesting discussion.

If I have to cancel and I was given a deposit, the expectation is that I have to return it. Obviously

If I canceled 5 mins before he showed up after already having confirmed, the expectation would be to offer a discount on the next visit.

If I canceled 24 hrs before hand (say he was text friendly or booked by email) there would be no expectation of a discount on the next visit as it was canceled well in advance.

We have set confirmation times for a reason, so is there an expectation of discount if you cancel at the time of mutually agreed upon confirmation time? Is the appointment not tentative until it is confirmed? And if tentative, then is an expectation of discount?

Personally I would say no there is not. If I have a confirmation time with a business and either side cancels at that confirmation time, I see that as being the purpose of a confirmation time.

Now again, I will give him an hour for his 45 minutes because I believe in always going the extra mile but I was curious as to the opinions on an industry standard level. If canceling at a confirmation time, is there an expectation of discount?

Although not necessary as he wasn't put out with the drive to you a small token can go a long way in any business that involves clients/customers. Perhaps just a 15 minute free session extension as a small token.
Yeah - I think I didn't word this thread right. I already basically knew what I was going to do. If someone offered up some advice that was better, I was open to it.
Should I be worried we are on the same page????? :unsure:

Two schools of thought.

1st: when your client cancel you loose money. When you cancel, your client loses only his time. So don't make it up to him.

2nd option: You ask people for a cancel fee? It's a 2 way street.

I always offer something if I have to cancel and I expect the same in return. My client's time is important too.
You can always make your money back, but you can't get your time back.

At the same time, though, most agencies require confirmation on the day of the appointment; if the agency/escort cancels by 11am or so I don’t think they’d offer a discount?

This is my thought. I don’t think they do if the cancellation happens at the time of confirmation. This is what the confirmation time is for, is it not?

We can't be expected to go back and re-read your answers just because you edit them.

Whatever... You posted, then changed your mind, changed your post and I didn't notice.
