But of course.

Restoring a few kms of urban, inner city, local, neighborhood road lanes to the city's 5700kms of roadway in addition it's thousands of kms of expressway lanes WILL REALLY get Toronto moving again as you say!!!!!

You make SO MUCH SENSE!!!!!!
Tell us you can't afford a car without telling us.

That is astounding. And there is not a single cyclist using it. It is plain and simple a war on cars that benefits no one, seeing as there are no cyclists. Not even a food delivery guy (or gal for the politically correct).

Any comment Anbarandy?
The city needs to plow bike lanes consistently first.
Lots of northern EU countries take care of their bike lanes and people bike through the cold.

No, this below is what is truly astounding:

There is not a "war on the car" going on except in little, inane and deluded minds.

Look at the photos above.

It is a "war on the city" declared by motor vehicle drivers which the little, inane and deluded "war on the car" minds are incapable of neither absorbing nor processing. Reality does not compute despite all the evidence.

Instead of insipidly bleating and braying about moving about in snowstorms as if it proves your inane "war on the car" conspiracies look above at the photos and tell us what is and who are the causes of traffic congestion. gridlock and mayhem to such a degree that there is not one square centimeter of tarred road that is not dominated and consumed by motor vehicles and their operators.

Please tell us, oh great "war on the car" neighing ninny

So that nobody can use them. Brilliant.
Lots of northern EU countries take care of their bike lanes and people bike through the cold.
And, unlike Toronto, the citizens of those countries use their bikes in the winter. So the situations are not comparable. Plowing them first is justified in Europe but not in Toronto.

The photos above tell me that the Toronto gov't is telling them "you can sit and rot in traffic for hours, pollute our air and needlessly spend thousands of dollars on gas so that 1% of commuters can get preferential treatment". That's what those pics are saying to me.

There are no bike lanes on highways, shack.

I know, you need extra room for the walker and parking anywhere more than 2 metres from your destination is too much for you. But if you lived downtown, you'd know biking is the best way to get around and to stay healthy.

You voting for DoFo so he can spend Sudbury money on a tunnel under the 401?
You think that will fix anything?

DoFo should stay the f out of Toronto politics. He lost the vote for mayor.

Great response.

BTW, there are also no cyclists on the snow cleared bike lanes. So they're useless and so is clearing them.
Restoring a few kms of inner city, urban, local, neighborhood road lanes has/does zero f*ck all effect in/to easing the visible, undeniable and originating source of traffic congestion, gridlock and mayhem, the motor vehicle and their drivers, which is best illustrated below:

And no amount of inane, "war on the car" delusionary bleatings and "snowstorms, sodium, and plows" changes the reality that:

That there are millions of motor vehicle and their entitled operators swarming, congesting, clogging, gridlocking the city, especially the inner city, urban, local and neighborhood roads.

You're hilarious. You post photos of heavy traffic on major highways. As if somehow Doug Ford created all of it by proposing to remove a couple bike lanes in the city. I've mentioned it many times, the vast majority of the people who drive, do so, despite the traffic photos you continually post, because it's still the fastest way to their destination. Unless you're traveling to a destination that's well served by public transit, driving is still the best option. If you don't believe me, open Google Maps, pick a destination (downtown to somewhere in Markham for example) and see what the fastest way is.

Example: Yonge and Bloor to the Pacific Mall at Kennedy Rd. and Steeles Ave. E.

Cycling: 1 hr 38 mins
Transit: 1 hr 7 mins
Driving: 26 mins

Now if you're going from Dufferin TTC station to Warden TTC station, obviously the subway is going to be faster. Let's see by how much.

Cycling: 1 hr 1 min
Transit: 31 mins
Driving: 36 mins

So yes, transit at this time of the day will save you a whole 5 minutes. And that's along a direct subway line. Now, if you have to travel any additional distance to/from the subway stations, driving is going to be way faster.

And you still don't understand why so many people choose to drive?
