Kind of the difference between found guilty and not fiudn guilty. We're you all up in arms when Cohen got sentenced to jail for the dame crime ?
The thing is Cohen was indicted for a major crime far beyond the big "hush money" case. There was never a trial. Can't try a man on another man's plea. That's kind of basic law.

So there was a trial under an entire different application of the law. A lot of you got your trial and got your felony conviction.
But here we are. I feel bad for the weak judge because a lot of commentators think he's backed himself into a corner. He wants to follow through with a sentence. Even if its relatively minor, Trump's likely going through with the appeal. Do you think judges really like being overturned so publicly.

The felony was suppose to turn the American electorate. This show sentencing is all your left with and I'm not sure you know what that is.

A criminal record means nothing if you don't spend a minute in jail. He was never handcuffed either.
Yeah, that's how most Americans see it. Barring some huge fine that survives an appeal, I suspect even New York Democratic voters will start questioning D.A. Bragg and his use of resources.

Judge Merchan, who is known for his lack of favor toward Trump, has taken the unusual step of announcing his intentions ahead of delivering his decisions. This gives District Attorney Alvin Bragg maximum time to act. While Bragg's efforts may not ultimately change the final outcome, the process of appealing these cases will keep Trump's name under public scrutiny.
Trump is betting on various scenarios: that he may not live to face the consequences of civil or criminal matters by the end of his presidential term, or that he can change the law to allow a third term. Failing that, he could even push for a write-in campaign. While write-in votes have been historically rare in high-profile elections. Strom Thurmond's 1954 U.S. Senate campaign in South Carolina being a notable exception. Trump may consider this option if he grows desperate.
In an extreme scenario, he might rally his supporters, including groups like the Proud Boys and his MAGA base, to take drastic action. However, whether he retains the same level of support by the end of a potential second term is uncertain. Many of his supporters have already become disillusioned, even before he begins another term in office.

Oh, I forgot your name. You're into these fantasy scenarios that you cook up.

Nice touch with the big font. It really drives the delusion home.

Any other citizen would not have been brought to court in the first place. That's where the lawfare part comes in.
Then why are 100's of Jan 6 rioters in jail today, but Trump ( the instigator ) is still free? "Lawfare " is just an altright get out of jail con. Holding him accountable for provoking a riot to prevent the peaceful transfer of power, trying to fabricate votes in Georgia, hiding top secret documents insecurely at MaraLago is justice, not lawfare.

Not really sure what you are trying to say here exactly.
It's all lawfare. Did they not impeach him over it (even though he was acquitted)?
You just don't want to believe it because you just hate Trump regardless and for your own shallow reasons. It's your confirmation bias getting the better of you.

Everything you argue implies you think the US should be run by Wilhoit's law.
(with reference to valcazar)

Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

So he is suppose to throw the case out, where an unbiased a jury unanimously convicted tru Trump of 34 felonies because the sentence will not be harsh enough? He gave trunp preferential treatment as did every judge. Anyone else in the world would be rotting away in jail. As for your fanciful conspiracy theories, there are safeguards in place to make sure that egregious prosecution of crimes does not happen. So what if Bragg wanted to go after Trump for his crimes? Is it any different than j Edgar however or the Kennedys vowing to go after the mafia ? The safeguard that you conveniently ignore is that when a prosecutor brings charges a jury must vote to bring the charges to court. In your makebelive world no such thing happened and you allude to the misconception that Bragg and merchan cooled up some scheme to get Trump. Now if there were no juries involved your claim might be soemwhat believable, but with unanimous juries your claims are ridiculous and no rational person could take them seriously

Dave, what do you want us to do? This case is now almost dead in the water. The judge knows that an appeal is hanging over his head. Apparently, you don't understand the appeal's viability because you are stuck on the sanctimony of the jury and judge.

This case was dragged through the New York judicial system so that talking heads could say convicted felon Donald J. Trump during the election season. Again, what do want us to do? The election is over.

Are you hearing something that the judge is going to drop something big on Trump? I'm hearing quite the opposite. The judge doesn't really have too many options.

Are you gloating because you think he'll get away with this crime as well?
